Registry Compromise?

The Article in Sunday's Herald Sun (20/12/20) Lawmen Guns and Money, by Andrew Rule should be of concern to all Australian Licensed firearm owners.

For years the media and the various Police Forces have continually castigated firearm owners about security. It appears that once again, that we the licensed owners, are not the problem.,

That part of the media has finally printed what has freely circulated for years shows just how critical the situation has become.

The author would agree that there are other possible leaks such as gun shop records of sale.

However, on the evidence available the security of the Registry is suspect.

The question is, what are the Police Command going to do?

I can tell you what they are doing, right now they have committed large resources to audit every Class 1 Dealer in Victoria, very heavy handed and threatening regarding discrepancies which the dealers must supply information, luckily so far the dealers who have been run through have records going back decades and have been able to prove that LRD's records are wrong. As for LRD data security, it was not so long ago a crim was arrested carrying a complete list of gun dealers and their current stock on hand, a list only LRD could supply, seems someone who worked at LRD had a friend in the Motorcycle Clubs.
