NSW straight pull shotgun ban update.

Post by NSC » 12 Jan 2021, 8:11 am

The NSC has fought hard on the proposed NSW FAR reclassification on the Adler and Berika straight pull shotguns.

Our efforts have paid off!

The latest update is below:

Thanks

Great news, I noticed SIFA had uploaded an article on LinkedIn. Did they have any hand in assisting with this?

Every organisation comes out of the woodwork to proclaim they had a hand in it. The term "working behind the scenes" gets used a lot. But its code for "we did F all and are just claiming the credit".

Good work to the NSC. I particularly like the part where the response from NSW Firearms was zero in regards to what qualifications their reclassifying staff have. I suspected as much.

Go the NSC!!!
Smashing goals!

Thank you NSC, I won't be bothering with my SSAA renewal when its due next, I'm sick of paying them to sleep at the wheel but I'll definitely be keeping my NSC membership..

boink - What "qualifications" would the reclassifying staff need, or should have?

Not poking the bull, just curious!

Armourer, firearm instructor, etc; would be two that come to mind as far as qualifications to examine, asses and categorize a firearm!

Or at least a standard procedure for identifying cross checking, measuring and field testing and hazard identification would be a start.

Id be surprised if they've even got that covered.
