Back from the brink.

When will the various State Guberments learn the shooters/hunters can help save our natives?

This is a perfect example of how more sensible hunting on public land (in this case QLD) would help the wallabies. Instead they build a bloody fence/enclosure.

Yet in most states we can't hunt on public land, or its a drama to do so.

The government will never give you a legitimate reason to own a firearm it's just the way they are wired

They know best, its a job best left to the professionals

They're too niaeve to join the dots, hunters are capable of completely irradiating a species if given the need or incentives and permission to do so.

Look at cane toads, $1 a head, sounds expensive but where will that money go ? Straight back into the economy, you could make a hansom living killing toads.
Every man and his dog would be running around like over excited kids on an Easter egg hunt. It'd be like a gold rush on steroids.

$200,000,000 over 10 years ? its chicken feed

strongly agree, would be a great incentive for me to move further north and invest in a new 4by and a couple new pcp air rifles as well as some nets and whatever else the local tackle shop or sports store has that will aid in the task. we should make it happen!

Didn't work with rabbits.

In fact it was documented that people let rabbits through the rabbit proof fence so they wold have something to eat on the other side, and de-eared rabbits rather than scalped and let them live, in case the could still breed but collect the bounty.

But how would you deal with idiots breeding up Cane toads to capitalize on a bounty ?

TBH I don't think hunting alone can eliminate, say foxes on its own. But we can certainly be part of a team effort.

Some current gruberment policy is plainly stupid.
