given this is a direct stab at me I will speak up Rich, I have walked streets armed with literally nothing that I can guarantee you wouldn't even visit with a security escort, I don't need anything but my own stomach to feel safe. But you and OB both act as if I, like you all, am speaking from some self oriented point of view, I am not. So mate keep ya nonsense to yourself.

and you know nothing of me either mate . i've walked some scary streets myself , and known some scary people when i was younger . the main reasoning for more access to firearms in this topic is security
i'm just not seeing the common sense in the argument for giving more access to firearms when some people ,young and old, can't be relied upon to operate a car properly . in a perfect world , where everyone does the right thing , there wouldn't be a issue with people carrying . but there are all sorts of halfwits in our society, and overseas as well , who shouldn't have access cause they can't be trusted . the more access to firearms for the public doesn't wash with me i'm afraid. i can acquire all the firearms i could possibly need for any hunting scenario already

And here we have it folks, the blind rage of the ageing aussie spanker. Mate you spend more time on here generating piss and hot wind than anyone, you'd think after so many posts you'd be able to spell such a simple word, problem you have is you were trying to be a smart arse and condescending and instead came across ignorant and uneducated. So now who has resorted to carrying on like a twat? making bestiality jokes like some sort of gotcha... lol what a spent case.

Mate you got called out, you were making up facts. And now like a 2 year Trump trying to shift the blame on everything and everyone in the hope people forgot.

You said in Australia there is more home invasions which result in rapes than house fires.

You are a donkertottle.

So just for clarity, he was referring to house fires. The CFA says there are about 4500 house fires every year in NSW. I have serious doubts that even 450 die of HIV as a result of rape in NSW a year, let alone 4500

Some may think I'm being argumentive. But I get a bit pissed when people think they can make any wild claim to win an argument and get away with it. Debates can only be won with facts, not disinformation/bull s**t. If you cock up just admit it and move on. If you try and continue argue to justify your mistake you just look like a complete idiot. Or peraps someone with "issues".

I didnt get "called out" lol, a dimwit misunderstands conversation then continues to make a spectacle of themselves and you join them like the rest of the clowns in the tent. bravo.

and you have failed entirely to even paraphrase what I said even slightly accurately, talk about words in mouth.

Actually can someone bring up total number of rapes during home invasion

Or number of asexual assaults where the victim does not know the attacker

I am betting it's still lower than 4500 for the whole of Australia.

You see I didn't make up facts to suit my argument. I said I bet...aka is my opinion (could be wrong)

So far from statistics I have seen in the past, people that carry firearms in the USA have a great track record. As I mentioned when someone looked at the 1.5 million people with a license to carry in my state, the crime rate was 0.0%.

I'd be more worried about criminals than regular people minding their own business living a clean and ordinary life who happen to own a gun or guns. In other words your concern seems to be misplaced.

The thing with guns is that it's a choice. Here in the USA if you don't want one, don't own one.

These western countries are turning into these bureaucratic authoritarian regimes with some dummy in a government post deciding you can't do this or that or this or that and it takes choice and freedom away from people and it seems to be making people less responsible and capable for their own lives.

I have just read this from start to finish and would like to weigh in
.I would love to have a pair of Ruger Blackhawks on a belt with all the rounds on it however
.I use public transport a lot and some of the characters I travel with should not have access to handguns if I can have them so can they
.ZaineB you started the personal insults. Not good form.I normally like the stuff you post where did it all go wrong

i should have been clearer about some of my concerns . the criminal element are grouped in with the folks who don't have the common sense to operate a vehicle. i believe some sort of licensing system is required as there are elements of society who should not have access to firearms . all it takes is one halfwit to make a bad choice, or some drugged out wanna be gangster to do some crazy sh!t and the rest of gun owners get vilified and condemed . the US is the US , it has it's laws and australia has it's own . i'm quite happy as a hunter/recreational shooter with where things are at in this country , if folks want US firearms access they should just move there . simples . cause firearm laws aren't going to change back to what they were in australia .

as for the politicians controlling more of our lives , yeah i hear ya . that's why people need to be more active in our democratic western societys . in australia we have numerous independant politicians and parties , and i encourage people to support them . you'd be suprised the number of people i know who complain but don't get of their @ss to vote . a two party system is NOT democracy
