Skeet Champion Shoots Himself

Post by Communism_Is_Cancer » 09 Jan 2022, 6:52 am

Appears to be a freak accident.

Eighteen year old Italian world junior clay pigeon shooting champion was out hunting and he bent down to pick up some ammo and somehow his gun went off blowing out his abdomen.

Should ban guns for hunting after this.

This is a simple case of humans don't kill humans........ guns kills human.

I laughed, although I feel morally wrong for laughing. Someone did die.

Intrigued how this happened. Either holding the gun very awkwardly to shoot in abdomen, or possibly it was lent against something and fell over

It's a shame when such an accident happens to anybody, world champion or not. Sounds bizarre though - I can't quite picture the geometry in my head.

Having huge amounts of experience shooting on a strictly controlled range at a club can mean little when you are out hunting.

Yeah seems implausible.
Sad though

Sometimes so much experience also breeds complacency/ carelessness.

Seems unbelievable that such an 'accident' could happen with a shooter with so much experience but sporting shotgun shooters close the breach just before shooting and then open it again, they have no experience with walking and moving with a loaded firearm but you would think common sense would take over.

I'm not even sure how you would accidentally shoot yourself in the abdomen with a shotgun that has a 30" or so barrel whilst bending down to pick something up, unless he was holding it by the muzzle, pointed it into himself and banged the butt down on the floor.
