I don’t know for sure but I suspect police put more effort than normal into catching crims in these circumstances... I look fwd to hearing about these getting caught and jailed. There are average crims and then there are real bad crims. When access to the safe is successful it’s more disgusting to be taking the violence to a higher level. Those crims are bloody totally out of control. And most of the time out of control crims. Are not careful enough to cover their tracks and remain Un caught.

If they are prepared to set people on fire who knows what the crims are capable of doing now That they are armed

That's good news, but will the burned owner of the stolen firearms ever get his firearms back from the Police or will they be held as 'evidence' while the Police investigate the crime further - and also investigate the victim and his security? [I'm assuming the Police have found the stolen firearms.]

Last I heard firearms had not been recovered. I’d definitely be concerned for the victims security. If he does get his firearms returned or replaced he wouldn’t want to store them at home now the media have plastered his address everywhere.

I think if someone was the victim of such a heinous crime and they made the decision to not return to shooting as a hobby, you could not malign that. If he decides he wants his guns back, more power to him, but if he decides no thanks....also a fair bump, play on.

Which was colour coded to differentiate between long arms and handguns. Not a very smart move.

Whilst this may be a legit add, I wonder if this is how some crims find out about where the 'good stuff' is?

Just as likely a sting.
No dealer would risk his licence for it.

Looks a bit suss really.
Don’t think I’d be replying to it.
Both my Vic license numbers finish in letters too, is it different in QLD?

Qld licenses (mine, anyway) do not have alpha characters.
First digits of sequence 100 = long arms. 300 = pistols, 5000 = dealer, etc. There are also suffix numbers after a hyphen which indicate the number of times that the licence has been re-issued.
All States do their own thing, in their own way.

Good reaction above to this. If a bunch of crooks steal guns or use guns in a crime, gunowners should rightfully disown or distance themselves from it, since we arent responsbile for their behvaiour just because they choose to involve and abuse the same sporting implement we use.

I notice too often when someone does something dumb with guns, often hunting related( poaching, shooting up horses etc) gunowners instead talk about ''ówning the problem' or 'taking responsibility" just because the crook may also happen to be a hunter.

Criminals are criminals, whether its pre-meditated, ignorant or reckless.

I didn't think this warranted a separate thread, but as this one is reelated to firearms being stolen in Westralia, it seemed an appropriate place

Well, I didn't look hard enough OB.

This is pretty fecking outrageous though, eh?

The same group who complain about crims knocking off guns from lafo as a reason we shouldn't be allowed to have them, go out of their way to enable that theft by telling them exactly where to look.

My jaundiced view of them gets a deeper shade of bilirubin everyday.

I think it simply proves the "system" isn't working as it should in WA.

I recently renewed my licence in Victoria. Old one had but new one does not have my address on it.

Mmmm I wonder why?

I don't know about Victoria but in NSW they don't send you a notice when expiry is coming up like they do with every other licence and rego.

I know I'm a touch paranoid, but it seems like it's in the hope someone forgets.
