I have a strange feeling another bank did something along these line about 18 months ago.

I had "dealings" with Esanda in the late 80s.
A total cack of punts.

Wouldn't lend me 4K for a mint second hand skid steer but were happy to give me 44K for a new one and I was mug enough to take it.

Over 7 years I paid them 122K, then when the business tanked after I was f*cked up in the truck crash, they took the machine and tried to sue me for another 24K.
Lovely people to deal with.

I always wonder what compels people to get into what turn out to be quite lousy deals.
Banks but especially non bank lenders are not in business to help you, they are there to exploit you, no matter what their flashy advertising may suggest.
It is up to the borrower to limit the extent to which they can exploit you.

In my case, a combination of a cherry contract on offer and business naivety on my part.
I wanted the contract so badly I was willing to dismiss the warning signs.
