I'd rather be passionate about politics than be part of the sheeple.

Being passionate is fine, some on this forum are just flat out rude and insulting cause they think their point of view is right or they have a sense of entitlement to rag on others cause they have the moral high ground

no worries mate , i just get frustrated with seeing topics descend into slanging matches . i haven't seen any of this sort of thing on yank forums . they just agree to disagree . i get sick of seeing the mods shut down topics due to this sort of behaviour , and it doesn't make for good reading either . i wasn't having a jibe at you personally OW , i just had to say/post it

I gave up caring about VIC when the public decided to vote Dan and his henchmen back in. At that point, which frankly stunned me, I had to step back and fully understand that you get the government you deserve. I don't even want to hear whining about labor in VIC - collectively you voted him and his back in - you reap what you sow.

Same goes for over here in WA. I was getting all bent out of shape after covid and how, at the end, the labor government here handled things. In my view, unforgivable. Yet we voted the buggers back in with a landslide. So its not the politicians actually, its the voting public ... we are all collectively getting what we deserve and it appears that the vast majority are more than happy with the outcome.

Oldbloke wrote:IMHO anyone still ranting about the covid lockdowns needs to get a life. Let's be honest you were allowed out most days for an hour or so and visit your intimate partner. If you couldn't deal with 22 or 23 hours at home then you had problems before the covid lockdowns even started. And if you think going hunting was more important than peotecting the general population, YOUR THE ONE WITH THE ISSUES.
Dan Andrews would have simply made decisions based on the information the experts gave him no more no less. He knew the geral population didnt like it. I don't know but perhaps there's more to it than what meets the eye. But for gods sake stop whining like a 5 year old. Grow up and get on with life.

This b******* about Victoria and Melbourne having the most lockdowns on the planet is just b******* and you all know it. Argentina had longer lockdowns some almost 300 days and many were much tougher in some cases people weren't allowed out to go and do shopping or anything they were just locked in their house/unit.

As far as crappy politicians go Dan Andrew is only one of many you might not like him and that's fair enough & you don't have to but let's not forget JWH, Jeff kennett, and Tony Abbott the greatest dropkicks ever to sit in parliament.

MOVE ON. You will be better for it.

That post takes the cake for delusion.
If you believe any of that, you don't step outside often.
You are also very selective about what information you absorb.

Retiree living in the country. Minimal impact on their lifestyle.

Economic and social devastation just ask anybody that had small business or an investment property or developed heart problems. They aren't doing so well.

It will be like a TV repeat if "The Next Pandemic" is a more deadly chink flu.

The leaders all resigned didn't they after their jobs in the sun got serious?
Even the WA one who had the easiest lockout due to their isolation ran for the hills.
Lets all hope Papalia fails to get into the highchair and gets outed instead.
Too late for WA shooters now but payback can be a bitch sometimes.

Back to Dan, I bet he jumped out of the drivers seat quicker than Morriscum yelled that the bushfire holiday was all Jennies idea.

Now that Emperor Palpatine has fled let's hope Victorians and their stockholm syndrome aren't dumb enough to keep Sly Moore in charge...
