We're going to need tougher knife laws too

Post by bladeracer » 02 Jan 2025, 1:17 pm

Or maybe we just need the laws we already have actually enforced?

Makes me sick.
We had a very similar experience whist in the CVP at Goondiwindi. It was full on.

They live in Boggabilla. Moree and Goondiwindi gets hit several times a week. I think there was even a parliamentary enquiry in QLD.

Problem is they squeal life's too hard because they have a tan. Or i have suicide tendencies. So they never do time.

Having said that they give everyone with a tan a bad name and many are good people.

Get no sympathy from me. Lockem up. Pull a knife on me and they will wake up in hospital, if they get lucky.

Yeah mate. One brown spot on the apple and people think the whole apple is rotten. It works that way in peoples perception with racial groups too.

I remember hearing about that enquiry. It has something to do with Jurisdiction. QLD police have no authority to cross the border so when the thugs come in from NSW and run away the police can't do much about it. I like how in America they use the FBI or other federal agencies to work with state police to cross state borders to apprehend criminals but our AFP is not set up to do these type of things. AFP don't focus on so called petty crime.

The bleeding hearts need to wake up in the middle of the night with a knife to their throat before they'll accept the reality of leaving these mongrels loose in the community.

I don't like liberals but the new liberal premier of Queensland is going to start putting kids as young as 10 in jail for serious offences. I support this decision. Obviously in a kids jail not with adults.

The bleeding hearts say the statistics show that will only increase their recidivism rate. Whilst they are correct I say "so what?". Just because if you put someone in jail earlier in life means they are more likely to become a career criminal does not mean you should stop putting them in jail.

It is a bad circle of life. Crackhead parents creating crackhead kids I get it, I understand it, I am even sympathetic to it. But that does not mean I don't want them punished.

Community outreach programs, army cadets and even churches. I am for whatever to help people have someone provide them with a good influence who were dealt a crap hand in life but still lock the ones away who are dangerous and deserve it.

Aged 10 is very young. TBH I think it should be 12.
Issue is when the age was,,, I think 12,, they were never jailed. WTF. Jail them.
Mow the grass down the road pick up rubbish, help pensioners, cook meals for meals on wheels. etc

I was sympathetic, but no more.

They just claim life is too tough because they have a tan. Or they are suicidal. Soooo, they get off and just keep offending and offending and offending.

Jail them. Then give them a rope to practice their scout knots.

If they make a bad decision,,,, well it was their decision.

Might sound rough, but they lost me three years ago.

The other thing that gets on my goat. They never stop whinging about the day the poms arrived.

Well if you think it was wrong and the "invaders" fuked the place,,,STOP taking all the freebies that come with the "invasion". Stop budging on the system. Go live in the desert eating lizards.

Your right mate. Changing the age does not mean they will go to jail. Whilst it may look good on paper in practice nothing will probably change to be honest.

I just found out last night that around half the states in America have elections for their judges. Like for the equivalent of our Queensland magistrate level court. I believe you mob in Victoria call them "county court".

I think this is a cool idea to be able to vote for a judge. People who are soft on applying the law should face the wrath of the voter.

How about we don't ban anything, and punish germs for wrecking other people's stuff and lives. So severely, they crap their pants thinking about the punishment. Problem soon solved.
Shame about the "pass me another little boy" sheltered city type judges that won't listen to public sentiment.

We should do like places in America do and every 4 years magistrates, judges, justices, adjudicators etc get put up for reelection. The judiciary is a form of government so the fact they are unaccountable is tyrannical.

The judiciary F us more than the legislature do.

Looks like Coles are about to stop selling kitchen knives after one of their employees were stabbed.

I can foresee laws being further tightened soon.

I've carried a pocket knife since I was about 10yo, for me it's as important as putting my shoes on before I leave the house.
It's currently legal to carry a utility knife / pocket knife with a blade no longer than 10cm (in SA) with a lawful excuse provided that excuse isn't self defence.

I surely hope I can continue to do so legally, one of humanity's first and most useful tools.

So coles won't sell knifes because of one death by one criminal but sells sugary soft drinks, ice creams and lollies which leads to the cause of the biggest cause of death in Australia. Makes no logical sense.

Old bloke you are on to something about people not being born.

This women in QLD just got arrested for giving a one year old baby prescription medications so it would be sick so she could post about it on the internet to get people to donate money to help the baby and also to gain followers to grow her social media page.

This women is a proper scumbag!!!

In a perfect world with just laws if convicted this would be a hanging offence.
