how do you not vote for anyone?
Informal vote, leave it blank, gets your name ticked off so no fine, and has to be ignored in the vote tally. That's if you truly feel none of them deserve a vote. It doesn't identify WHY you left it blank, but what politician would ever propose giving us that option? Could probably win an election on that platform
A few whiners jump up and down saying you are doing nothing to prevent whoever ultimately wins and have no right to complain.
But if they are all reprehensible, there is currently no other option, such as to the right to complain. Either exaggerating (or understating) the case with an example, If it was a choice between a murderer and a paedophile, wouldn't it be better to support NEITHER.
A system that has votes based on anything other than policy evaluation, is already broken. "My Daddy always voted for XXX and so do I." "Mr. XXX's eye's are too close together, I don't like him." "Mr. YYY kissed my baby and seemed like a nice fellow" Do we really need frivolous votes like that.
Only 11 countries in the world have compulsory voting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compulsory_voting#By_countries From those you can discount Lichtenstein and the Swiss province, Political awareness there means there is a well informed voter base. The rest are hardly shining examples of countries with human rights, having compulsory millitary service or high disorder.
