Sooo... The way i'm reading things is the 5 shot will be available in a couple of months with the 7 shot being available in 12.

Unless the states press ahead with changes

Calling this a win is the same as having an arm amputated an calling that a win because you still have another....

(Pushing for ) A sunset clause is the most irrelevant pointless stupid futile exercise because we know, that the circus of the firearms weapons working group or whatever theyre called, is a done deal, die is cast, shotties will be limited by the state laws to 5 rounds, if that, centrefire levers 10 rounds? 5 rounds?

Expending political capital on this was a huge waste, he should have pushed for deregulation, something in line with the Senate report....

The process will involve 'consultation' now which will probably resemble a request for comment to the orgs at midnight before NFA V.2 is set.

The issue I see is the carte blanche approach that these gun-grabbing phobes will take, they WILL go hard, and as Aussie shooters are aware, Police drive firearm legislation (this is soooo wrong).....

Where will we be with NFI, sorry NFA in 12 months??

ALL levers 5 rounds? but thats OK, because the import restriction would have lapsed  what a joke!
ALL bolts 5 rounds/10 rounds?? (Some are unlimited presently)
what else??

I'm quite certain that given the rhetoric AND various actions over the last 10 or so years, the Calibre/chambering for rifles WILL appear in the NFA and thereafter state legislation. 50Browning and derivatives, CheyCheys, anything similar all the way down to (#############) I dont want to give them any more ideas, but the longe range laser canon death ray military black killing machine Lapua ....... The tried it on with the Customs prohibitions a couple/few yrs ago...... they DONT forget.

I'm sorry m8 but no one likes a pessimist lol
you act like they are Gods with impenetrable defenses...its just communists Vs Freedom loving classical libertarians lol
Or if you want to be technical socialism vs classical liberalism but socialism always leads to communism.

anyway enough of that. keep your chin up! be more positive! like attracts like! educate people, and try to get more people into the sport or recreational activities. Help build respect for firearms instead of the hoplophobic mysteria that currently fills some Aussies heads.

1. we are fighting a information war.
2. we are fighting a socialist/communist enemy.
2. our real government is currently the United Nations certain elements within AU gov are just acting as a proxy.

if you understand what type of war you're fighting you can increase your chances of winning it!
maybe you should read the art of war? first you need to understand! then it wont feel so confusing! ^_^

If you know politics you'll soon realise there will be a sting in the tail somewhere - just gonna have to wait to see what that is! But good on David, Bridget and Ricky for having a go at trying to get some balance back in this Country when it comes to firearms use and ownership.

yeah not sure on that one. the 5 shot is apparently due soon where is this is talking in relation to 12 months? how to interpret this?

Shooters should be allowed access to the Adler A110 lever action shotgun in 12 months’ time, after Senator Leyonhjelm forced the Abbott Government to back down on a permanent ban. The deal also extracted a commitment from the Justice Minister to meet at least quarterly with representatives of shooters, something that ceased when the Firearms Advisory Committee was disbanded.

its annoyingly vague but I will investigate to see what I can find out...

yeah that is the nature of politics...give and take sorta of deals. Like for example I'm pro environment, renewable energy and pro choice among a few other things but it is hard to find a party that is pro everything I like especially firearms/enviroment.

its like pro enviroment and pro firearms just can't live together? maybe if we got rid of lead shot and adopted a similar alternative we might see different parties pop up more closely aligned with firearms and enviroment my 2 cents.

All the talk about levers being slower than pumps due to the movement of the trigger hand... why is there a 10+ shot (with removable mag) .308 pump action rifle available for purchase and import, but a 7-shot lever action shotgun is banned?

Why do 2 shotgun rounds make such a difference, when 10+ armor-penetrating .308 rounds are ok?

Why are politicians allowed to breathe our oxygen, when all they do is waste it?

What people should be asking is why wait 12mths?

There will be a reason they have put it off until then - you can G'tee that it won't be a reason that favours the LAFO! My guess is something to do with the NFA or Elections.

Be prepared for a fight to keep what we have let alone what we want.

That Post heading really needs changing as we haven't won anything at all - all we have is a hollow worthless promise by politicians - we all know how good their promises are.
