Firearm Owners United?

Post by WildHunter » 21 Sep 2015, 1:34 pm

There appears to be a new organisation out there, Firearm Owners United have sprung up out of nowhere and they seem pretty legit. The appearing to actually being something about our situation. They even run competitions, a mate of mine won some stuff from them. How big are they?

Hmm, these guys could become the new SSAA. It's certainly possible.

Indeed, we could become some of the first members of this new organisation, and I my thoughts on them is heaps better than what I first thought of SSAA. Not to discredit SSAA, but it is around time we got a new national body that does help us out a little more and runs competitions frequently. Free stuff is good stuff :D

what I'm wondering about though is where the shooters union is going? I have see some great things from them and they are actually affiliated with the NRA...so what gives? people not like them or something?

SSAA runs comps in the MAG every month, it's probably one of the few good things they do do, I don't think I'll be renewing my membership this year though, think I can find some more effective ways to share my hard earned around and hopefully if a few other people do to they might get the message and pull their fingers out.
A revitalised SSAA would be a good thing as they are connected and well known just need to be pointed in the right direction, not that these other groups won't be needed or possibly eclipse them in the future
Just my 2c

Same here ... I'll be giving the SSAA the flick when my renewal is due. They seem to be asleep at the wheel during a time of need.

I have joined the shooters & fishers party and will support any other firearms related organisation / lobby group that proves to be proactive.

yeah and they get allot more TV time. But the Media loves to spin Davids words about the place like they do with anything.
apparently having pro gun policies means giving firearms handouts to the criminals so everyone can be free lol

I'm actually really concerned about something else though...is their a love hate relationship between LDP and SFP? Just not feeling the love and unity there at all to be honest. Edit: I'm really concerned that we have this many "groups" "organizations" and no line of communication between them? isn't Victoria proof that if all these organizations come together and combine forces somewhat.

LDP are for much freer gun laws also, concealed carry of silenced full auto etc.

yeah pretty spot on.
LDP for me though...the more radical firearms policy will more then likely get us somewhere more comfortable abd anything less will land us only in "ok region" if you know what I mean? lol

You can change tge colors fine, but that centre white square bugs me somewhat. I might keep the shirt for P.E and going out, but I'd be pretty annoyed if I got into sh!t at school for wearing it.

Then again, kids walk around with half naked swimstar models holding super soakers on their t-shirts, not once have I seen them get in trouble for doing so. Lol I wouldnt even care if they gave me detention for 'wrong clothing', I'd just wag and go home

I've been dying for a pro shooting ad, we cop too much s**t. We deserve something like this.

Maybe contact them with feedback on the clothes, I believe I saw something from them saying they wanted feedback and were extending the range.

I think if they can find a way to produce more than just clothing apparel, they could even start making (or simply sell under FOU branding) equipment like electronic earmuffs, benchrests, case holders, rifle bags, anything really.

I have no fb so maybe someone else could try giving feedback about something similar?

Fou seem to be blohards who scream what have you done and the sky is falling in.

To me they have done nothing other than make useless noise.

In my opinion we don't need scare campaigns like the greens use.

And now they are asking for money via buying items. Sounds a bit suss to me.

There are a lot of groups like this popping up on Facebook and for me it is splintering our support base further.

I contacted them via Facebook asking what their media strategy is and so far no feedback.

That's a good point.

A consolidated group would be the go but we don't seem to be able to make it happen.

SSAA and SFP seem like the obviously people to do it but no?
