But this is perfectly ok.

It's modeled pretty damn close, even the fire selector and extendable stock are there.

G'day Heckler,
Sadly even this is NOT okay here in Victoria. According to the latest VicPol newsletter this is an imitation firearm requiring a Prohibited Weapons Approval or a Governors Exemption, red barrel plugs are no longer acceptable in the Nanny State. I feel sorry for the seller if the cops ever see this add, he had better have the right licence. (Leaves with deep sigh at the moronic, vapid stupidity of it all)

Shucks, at least TAS still keeps them here, I've seen plenty of the AK-47 and SCAR props here in novelty stores.

What next? We can't have RC tanks because they are replica's of 'dangerous war fighting machine robot weapons'?

Or wear plastic helmets and goggles because we're simulating being the military?

How about remote controlled aircraft and model rockets? Will they come under the hammer too?

The nanny state never ends.

Ah the good ol days, when I was a kid in the eighties I had a full size replica M16, and a Bronwning hand gun that shot those little orange pellets.

One of my favourite toys as a kid was a Spud Gun, the diecast metal version. A heap of us kids used to go into "battle" armed with a pistol in one hand and a potato in the other. I often pity my son and the soft cock cotton wool world he's forced to live in, he'll never know the joy of cracker night, climbing a tree in the school playground, toy guns and having "Wars" with the neighborhood kids. I did however see model rockets in HobbyCo last week, might have to buy a few and build a launcher for on multirotor chopper....hmmm...sounds like a plan :) or more likely given the current do-gooder environment it'll end up front page news with a suspended sentence.

Just last week I saw spud guns for sale in Big W for 4 bucks each.

That's ok, I saved up and bought the upgraded version :)

Speaking of pepper, the bro in law (retired U.S cop) was nicknamed "Sgt Pepper". They have paintball guns in the gaols over there to subdue prisoners, the only difference is that instead of paint the balls contained pepper gas and he wasn't afraid to empty the mag :) They'd really make a day of that paintball "Corporate Teambuilding" exercise just that bit more fun.

What do you guys consider "spud guns?" It doesn't sound like what we call spud guns. We call these spud guns:

We call those "Orange Guns" which are illegal and not good if caught with one. Below is what we're talking about, had one as a kid cause potatoes were cheaper and easier to get than caps.
