Elections are pretty close... 2016

News and events in the media and political arena relating to firearms.

Gun laws are a state issue which means it's vital to vote 1 for SFFP in state elections.

This is a federal election which is why I will put LDP at 1 with SFFP at 2, Leyonhjelm is excellent at a federal level and the Shooters Union NSW- LDP rep Peter Whelan is contesting New England.

I can understand people not wanting to vote, in some cases, especially in the lower house, there is bugger all choice, but in the senate, there is a good range of choice.

Shooters should consider giving their vote to one of the pro firearm parties, there are three that have dedicated pro firearm policies, the SFFP, LDP and Country Minded.

There are those that don't have specific pro firearms policies, yet can be considered as supportive of shooters such as the KAP.

There are some parties that while not being described as pro firearms , are not really against us either, such as Family First and One Nation.

There are those that have expressed sentiments that could be considered as being anti firearm such as Jacqie Lambie Network and the Glen Lazarous Party.

Then there are the obvious demons foremost being the Greens and Labor, followed by the Mature Australia Party and the Coalition.

Those shooters that do not intend to vote at all, I can only ask that they consider at least voting in the upper house, (senate) and vote for the pro shooting parties, even if they put in an informal vote in the lower house, at least it gives a pro shooting party the chance to get a senator up, which is a good chance in NSW.

By giving your number 1 vote to the SFFP, it will send a message that you are voting on shooting issues as a shooter, even if you prefer another pro shooting party, still consider giving your second preference to the SFFP.

If the SFFP get a strong primary vote count, this will be noticed by who ever forms government, hopefully it will make them aware that there is significant support for shooting and hunting and less likely to want to annoy us.

I assure you that me and my family, a few neighbours I've spoken to (rusted on Labor supporters) who are keen to support us (one neighbour fishes, even if its 5 degrees, chasing fish he can't eat) and the "oldies" whom remember kids on trains with rifles (never had an incident - had to say that) are voting SFFP this year.

If our representatives aren't doing the job, the politicians we support will (here's hoping).....?

Again, get your hands on the latest APA magazine and have a read of the Editorial.

I voted on Wednesday, will be on the road on Saturday.
Senate paper completed correctly but I made my own for the lower house, crossed out the usual suspects and wrote :

1 Don Trump

2 Vlad Putin

I had considered making Kim Jong Un # 3 but I seriously hate communists.

As previously stated, if a noticeable fraction of the Libs vote evaporates the Party Machine may realise that there is a "market" that is not buying the one party state poop on a stick product which is being offered.

“Accidental Discharges” DO NOT OCCUR !!

An "Unintended Discharge" is nothing more than the lack of appropriate safety procedures or the failure to follow them..!

I was looking for a current greens 'dangerous is guns them are' policy, and I came across their latest, how do you describe it, load of fanstastically ridiculous non-sense...so pretty much the standard for the greentards.....I just can not imagine how lacking in intelligence those who vote for them must be - if they actually pay attention to what the candidates preach and what they seek....;

Greens commit to help our hard-hit Pacific island neighbours with $3.6 billion per year in climate finance

The Australian Greens today committed to do Australia’s fair share in providing climate finance to help developing nations transition to clean energy and adapt to the impacts of global warming.
[[I love the way these tards 'commit' to funding promises when they are neither the government, nor have any chance whatsoever of coming good with the promise]]
.....
“In Paris, Australia agreed with other developed nations to collectively provide US$100 billion per year by 2020 in climate finance to assist developing nations transition to clean energy and adapt to the impacts of global warming.

“The Greens would make sure Australia pulls its weight, by mobilizing $3.2 billion per year by 2020 from a combination of public and private finance.

“The Greens would raise Australia’s contribution from $200 million per year to $1.6 billion per year by 2019-20 mainly for grants to support climate adaptation, and would mobilise an equivalent level of private finance,” Senator Waters said.

Yes, all for increase the ridiculous and offensively criminal wasteful give away of our grand children's money (goes on the tab) for an absolutely intangible action and result.....because of global consensus of the 1000 global scientists (of the how many million scientists who probably question at best and disagree at worst with the anthropogenic global warming theories)

While.....those remaining scientists who have retained their sanity - are looking at the actual SUN, that big bright star out side, that is, the actual warming mechanism of the earths surface...... is suspiciously sun-spot free for a particularly extended period this year, indicating the possibility of a very concerning potential precursor to an earth cooling period, AKA a (mini) ICE AGE!!!!

Imagine the horrific irony, should our children find themselves paying off immense interest bill in 30 years time to prevent the theorised/lied about warming of pacific island, while the snowline has descended from the peaks of the Victorian and NSW alpine regions... to somewhere near the once sunny metropolitan beaches....

Just see how the mini ice age question is avoided/rejected/ridiculed by the 'warmers'... they know best.

Well according to most predictions in the late 90's when this hysteria gathered momentum we should all be under water by now. And whatever happened to the ozone layer? And the big hole in it over Antartica? Is that not cool anymore?
Can't help but think it's just to create new industry like the Y2K bug nonsense. And distract the general populace from how crap our politicians are.
"Yes yes" said the politician, " I know I'm crap at my job but hey everybody look up there , it's a giant hole in the sky...."

Australia's self appointed EXPERT on climate change, Tim Flannery, has NO actual qualifications in Climate Science. He's a Paleontologist! After numerous people calling his bluff on this fact the University of Newcastle awarded him an "Honorary Doctorate in climate science". That 'aint qualification!
Sea level rise? It has been rising since the end of the last Ice-age, 10 000 years ago. Check up on the continental shelf around Australia, that used to be the coastline.
The reason they have changed their tune, it was "global warming" now it's "climate change" is that the numbers, no matter how they skewed them, just weren't showing up the "catastrophic warming" that was supposed to happen. I studied Climate Science at uni back in the 90's, if you think the media ignores fact and actualities when reporting about firearms issues, their total lack of knowledge with regards climate is 10 times worse. Their take on El-nino/La nina is totally wrong and the latest headline grabber, East-coast Low,is also applied to weather systems that have nothing to do with that particular phenomena.
Blood now boiling, :x rant over.

ok, I'm calling it

Coalition retain government.

Current representation

Lower House
Libs + Nats <89 seats (45.2%)>
Labs <55 seats (33.4%)>

Post Election?

Libs + Nats <86 seats>
Labs <56 seats >

- I can not see the Labs increasing their vote by much, with BS and his endless BS, drop some, pick up others.

- Though the Libs arent much better, they'll retain around 30 seats over the Labs.
- Seats will probably go towards indeps.

The Senate.... this is where the confused hordes will vote for the Greens with some fantasy of them 'keeping the lower house honest' The rest? I'm not even going to guess. But I'm sure the changes will benefit the big guys...

Plibersek will lead the Labor party within 2 days. :P

Plebiscite will be held, negative returned

LOL Genesis, with the benefit of current information I can say [not intending to wind you up] you could have been that little devil sitting on Malcolm's shoulder telling him that he is a heap smarter than everybody excepting his master George who lives in Switzerland.
Both Libs and Labor were served notice by the Proles that we are tiring their self indulgent nonsense, the employer is unhappy.
I was particularly pleased that Kathy McGowan retained Indi, Sophie Mirabella is a party apparatchik and the people North of here recognised that.
The pink/yellow trendites in the Liberal Party should take note that a fair proportion of their traditional support base are not buying that labor party swap leader rubbish.
NSW Labor provided precedent [in spades] and the last fed labor govt followed suit, I personally was disgusted when the Libs thought it was acceptable behaviour.
I think that right wing voters are by and large more intelligent, not a prejudice but rather an observation based on long experience.
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumber will now have to deal with the results, certainly not an ideal situation for we Proles but a damn sight better than the way things were headed.
