No doubt there will be some sort a appeal by the Nats for a recount, hope they get told to go farkemselves. This country is crying out for a different direction and this is a small step in it hopefully.

Winning by 50 votes just proves how much your vote counts.

Is that now 7 members of the SFF party elected by the people of Australia?

Doesnt matter if its 1 vote or 50 votes.... its a win the same...

thats 2upper house in each of WA, VIC and NSW, plus Orange being the first lower house seat...

This is a huge wake up call to the big 2... libs/nats and labs, plus the third, the reds...I means the greens...

The message is that 'we' are starting to see through the BS, and 'we' are going to vote for the alternative that is not leftist progressive....but more ... a lot more to the right. For a lot of people the libs, nats, Labs nor the greens are the choice....

The future may just be the SFFP for the shooters and ON for the rest (and shooters)....

So, after 30 years membership tired of the SSAA lack of action and visibility. So back on the 14th of April I decided to join the Shooters Fishers Farmers Party when I attended a firearms show in Melbourne.

Three phone calls later and promises and promises I'm still yet to receive any correspondence just simply one email asking for more donations. No letter welcoming me, nor a card. Oh, whilst asking about a membership card (yep, it's in the mail :allegedly: ) a suggestion I should join their face ache page.

I have to say I'm far from impressed. Just plain disappointed. Now looking like a waste of money.

What has been other members experience?

Reminds me of Asters post about the face ache promotion last year when face smash offered the increase budget and duration option..

"Add $10.00 and 1 more day for the total reach increase of 0-0 people"..

It seems more and more these days ya get what ya pay for :sarcasm:

An "Unintended Discharge" is nothing more than the lack of appropriate safety procedures or the failure to follow them..!

Well, now six weeks since paying my membership and yet to receive any correspondence. Looks like I will not be renewing next year if I get a renewal notice. Pathetic really.

The latest news, according to Senator Derryn Hinch is that Barnaby Joyce may not stand for re-election with the Nationals.

Could be a great candidate for the SFFP, eh?

I agree 7 weeks is far to long, in saying that, I am not sure where Victorian memberships are processed, I know Queensland ones are processed in Sydney, and are handled by volunteers, as the SFFP is a small party with limited resources, it might be worthwhile passing your concerns on to the SFFP Victorian branch, I would hope they respond and act accordingly.

We have experienced issues with the processing of memberships as well and have made our concerns known to the people in Sydney, while I can appreciate the workload of one or two volunteers, the system needs to be made more efficient, as a member of the QLD SFFP State committee and therefore a voice within the party, I will be mentioning this matter, as I have with other similar issues, to them, it needs improving.

I don't think that the processing etc is just a SSFP problem. Another small party has this problem too. Please explain.

A. The person I was talking to was in Melbourne.

A. I never gave that a thought. That would explain a lot. I was told there had also been an issue of their mail disappearing.

It might be worthwhile passing your concerns on to the SFFP Victorian branch,

A. I did to the person in Melbourne.

I didn't expect much, just a welcome letter and a receipt via email would have been great. Membership card could wait. But nothing for about 7 weeks!
Now you mention volunteers that sort of changes my view a fair bit. I'll take a wait and see position. Maybe rock up to a local meeting or two. That's if I get an invite!

Mate, don't wait for an invite to get involved, it is good to see you are keen and prepared to have input, this is what the party needs, I am not sure what they are doing down there, you may have to get in touch with them and find out when the meetings are being held, one of the things a small party like the SFFP needs is member participation and feed back, your views and ideas are just as important as anyone else.

I am fairly confident any membership involvement and assistance would be most welcome, we have a long way to go and have a lot of room for improvement, but the small band of volunteers down there are a committed lot, the more people get involved, the more that can be achieved.
