Amnesty

So just saw a news report on seven that reckons fifty-one thousand guns have been surrendered leaving roughly two hundred thousand out there . And of course they were all stolen from lafos according to sham Lee!!!! I reckon those numbers might be a bit inflated    :drinks:

And according to Turnbull theres zero fully autos and zero semi auto high power left because he said ( referring to the events in Vegas during a recent tv interview ) "this kind of thing is simply not possible in Australia due to our laws"

He was talking on free to air tv last night about a national "crowded place management strategy" , not banning burker and facial recognition.
I'm trying to find a link to the interview

“Accidental Discharges” DO NOT OCCUR !!

An "Unintended Discharge" is nothing more than the lack of appropriate safety procedures or the failure to follow them..!

I handed in a fairly rough .22 that I think would have made a good club with its rusted shut breech, just doing my bit in clearing these assault weapons from the streets!

I'll bet you that all guns handed in don't go to a crusher not with all the corruption in most systems revolving around the
amnesty , gun laws and the like associated with gun law enforcement and crime
If my memory serves me well a few years back guns that had been handed in on the first amnesty were used in several
gun related crimes
So food for thought

Cheers

I'm still wondering how many of the 51000 firearms were registered and how many new lafos the amnesty produced?! :unknown:

Back in the day when I had to hand in my semi's they didn't want to crush mine.... When I asked they said they would resell them elsewhere to help fund the buy back.....

I thought, Fark dat... So I jumped the counter and made it happen, the kents were not going to fund the BS buy back with the sale of my babies...

Yes destroying them made me cry........

YEP darwindingo its always left to the under dog to pick up the pieces I had an old mate up here who not long passed away
well he had a cap and ball pistol that his grandad had when the natives were hostile up here so three generations in the family
was this gun before the gun laws he had a permit to keep it but when the laws came in he was told to hand it in
The gun itself was in very good condition and would be worth a small fortune at the time being elderly himself he didn't realise
that he was supposed to get a invoice when handing in guns so first amnesty no money no gun no invoice no trace
He did later try and trace it but it had disappeared without a trace

Swing it around your head

56000?, on the 7th September they said "after 2 months they have received 26000 guns", so the last 3 weeks they more than doubled that figure?

Re: Amnesty

It's so frustrating when any fool can see there are major discrepancies in many figures bandied about on issues such as the amnesties etc. Why is counting firearms and collating actual final numbers so difficult yet the numbers mentioned are all over the shop.

Only about 3-4 weeks ago our Minister for Police was standing in front of a table with several firearms seized by Police in raids and was congratulating their work on getting these off the streets, which is fine by me.

But last week she was doing the same re the amnesties success and again standing in front of a table with several firearms.

BUT insinuating a sawn off shotgun at the front stock on the table was supposedly handed in was just blain BS as 3-4weeks ago that very same shotgun was shown as a result of raid seizures on some crims. There was also a rifle with a sawn off rear stock so most others were probably from similar raids and were not firearms handed in.

Conning the public into believing someone had walked into a police station and they handed in a sawn off shotgun or rifle and it's treated as a normal amnesty outcome is utter BS.

Politicians will never tell the truth on these matters and the public get conned but nobody takes them to task.

1886 Maaate your dealing with politicians now and don't get a surprise when you find out that the media are the same
The only way to tell when the media and the pollies are telling the truth is when their mouth is shut and not talking
They are specialists in BS usage to gain power or to sway people in their thinking
To take them to task would cost big dollars and if it was not going their way the media would probably step in with their BS stories
and confuse everyone and you would most likely loose
If said in parliament they are protected by parliamentary privilege and immune to being sued
You may get an idea of how to change things from this joke "How do you turn a bull around ''
Answer ''You kick him in the nuts '' maybe that's what Malcolm Turn-Bull needs

Cheers

So glad they got all these dangerous .22's and air rifles of the street! There has been a fair number of cat C's and a few cat d's handed in, a store i visited last week had one but it is predominately crap.

They obviously copped a lot more firearms than they planned, they are WAY behind processing the ones that dealers are selling, the amnesty Lithgow SMLE ive got on hold should have been ready last week and i was told at least another 2 weeks!
Not enough characters!
