Added a L/H 22 to the inventory last week and will be adding a pair of hand guns this week. Pretty sure I can add another 1 or 2 firearms during Feb, March, April, May, August, September, October, November and December none in June or july cause I'll be offshore competing

i agree with ya mate, but don't underestimate public opinion and the evil media. there's more than one way to go about things. building solidarity and numbers in the shooting community and with primary producers and conservation/ feral erradication is the weight behind our argument. more guns will play the ignorant into the hands of lefties.

The firearms are not coming from a shop, a letter outlining "Genuine Need" has to be attached due to the new bulls**t, and transfer will be done by travelling dealer. I may get something interstate as well, which will also require a letter, but that will transfer via a shop. Cheers.

Interesting! So would that mean that's if I for example wanted a caliber X from some weekend deal, like Arms and Militaria expo, I could priempt it and potentially take it home there and then, with the seller who would also be a dealwr doing a transfer on the spot?

Yes, that can, and has on several occasions, been done. If you know basically what you want, get a PTA, and go shopping! Only handguns require a serial number prior to purchase, longarms my make and caliber will do. I have done this at the Auctions in the past, Cheers.

I've been looking for a .357 Magnum lever-action for weeks. Ringing all over Oz and coming up empty everywhere. If you know of one let me know. There was a Rossi on Usedguns a few weeks ago that I'm kicking myself for not grabbing.
But I finally got a lead on an Uberti 66 in .38 Special that I'm inspecting tomorrow.
Hoping my Henry lever .22 comes tomorrow as well and I can bring them both home.

Still need some more though to really support the cause, maybe a .30-30 and some milsurps!

Not interested in spending more than about $1500, but have found nothing available at any price. We did see the Winchesters in the catalogues but they don't seem to be available just now. Marlin has a new .357 coming around the end of April which I might look at if I'm not happy with the Uberti.

The Uberti I think sells for about $1850 new?
But the one that I've found might be closer to the $1000 mark. I just hope it hasn't been gamer modded for SASS-style display shooting. I am amazed anybody would go to the effort to build a rifle in .38 Special rather than chamber it for .357 Magnum and let the owner choose which round they want to feed it. I can only guess the feed system is set up too short for full-length .357 loads. No big deal, just means a bit of brass trimming.

I managed to aggravate my shoulder again pushing a motorcycle up into the Landcruiser and the .44 Mag is hurting me still, so I thought I'd try something with much lighter bullets.

The National Lever Action Silhouette Championship is early May, with a practice shoot March 24.
My shoulder is giving me grief again, making the .44 something to be endured rather than enjoyed - but at least my ribs have stopped whining at last
So I thought I'd try a .357 with much lighter bullets.

I seem to have hit an accuracy- wall with the .22 lever so I thought I'd better try another one. I ordered the Henry Classic.

I'm enjoying the offhand shooting but I'm not especially enamoured with the levers. Combined with a tube mag, it's a very complex way to feed a rifle, with lots of ways of going wrong. If you grew up with them I guess you could find them easier to run than bolt-actions, but I just find it an awkward set up all round. Given the choice I'd grab a bolt rifle before the lever.

I can shoot the CLAS 200m competition with a "pistol caliber" rifle, but it's a useful excuse to get into a .30-30 or .45-70, so I might still grab one of those. The .45-70 seems very common, with the .30-30 not far behind, so I should be able to find either - if I can make such a decision. If I can pick up four rifles this month I'll feel I've done my bit for the Million More in March

I picked up 25kg of Hardball and Linotype alloy from Northern Smelters yesterday. I have over 30kg of recovered .22LR bullets, 10kg of recovered centrefire bullets, over 20kg of shot, and about 70kg of pure lead, so I'm going to have to have some casting sessions very soon.

Marlin in .357 - I'd think about that... I have a Marlin in 44Mag and I had a lot of issues with 'Marlin jam'. It's a complete lockup after double feed, one on lifter, one under and requires field strip (remove lever) to mitigate. It's an inherent problem with Marlins in pistol calibers. Something to do with thin radius on one of the edges on the lifter. Over time it (lifter edge) wears out and allows second round to go in. It can be fixed temporarily, but over time it will happen again if original lifter is used without heavy modifications (or better one is ordered). I had that happen and ended up ordering an 'improved' lifter form Brownells. Also did a lot of other work, since I'm intimately familiar with it's internals. Works very well now and I love it, however, thought I'd throw this in, in case someone is thinking about it Marlin in pistol calibers.

Yep, my .44 Marlin has similar issues. Not impressed with the mechanics of the Marlin. I prefer a manufacturer to concentrate on building something that works rather than something that looks and feels pretty. If I can get the .44 to function as it should then I wouldn't rule out adding the .357 to it. I'm thinking the Uberti is likely to be a better rifle anyway though, and hopefully any issues have been already ironed out.

I only managed to buy three rifles for March, the Uberti Model 66, the Henry Classic .22LR, and the Remington M1903-A3 which should arrive this week. My brother-in-law seized the crank and in my old 250 so I sunk a lot of cash into finding a replacement engine for that instead of buying rifles.

You're using double quotes, as if it's a direct citation. That's not what I've said. And just because you don't have good taste in finer things Mr I shoot F class I have had a change of heart about 22LR though. Lots and lots of fun, but using fast lever action or revolver action or pump action hehehe. Bolt action, 30+ cal over 22 any day. God damn it, I don't even know how I ended up with so many 22s lol
