I know nothing about it yet but it looks like it's the RAR Target model dropped into a chassis - at an amazing price.

At RRP of US$529 it's only US$30 more than the Target model - which sells for about A$700 here.
Dropping the Target into into an MDT chassis costs roughly another $700 though.

I like it. More options are always good. Might help persuade more younger shooters into the sport. I'd probably buy one for novelty value .

I like the idea it probable would take the 10/22 magazines which we know you can get or at least could in upto 50 capacity. Load a whole box and just have fun then a reloading break. It is certainly an advantage over the smaller capacity magazines.

Probably would have sold better with a buffer tube on the back.

I'm not sure if it fits the standard ten-round mags though due to the depth of the chassis. It might use the 15-rd mag but restricted to ten rounds. The 25-rd and 50-rd mags were very awkward though when I was a kid, I invariably used the 10-rd mags unless I was specifically doing mag dumps.

It is a one-piece polymer chassis which is a little annoying but probably just fine on a .22LR.
That might be why they didn't use a buffer tube, leverage against the butt stock would likely break the plastic.
The fore end though is aluminium.

I didn't have any problems with my extended mags. Dont think they were Ruger made could of been. But it was shaped like what is shown here so my thought was it would have just been a perfect match. Function and looks the goods.

Nothing military about it, it's just more modern than the old-style stuff we're allowed to own.

This looks good. Hopefully it means some of the stores here will start selling the BX-15 mags again. I would like one for my RAR. The lucky 13’s look good but they are just too expensive!

I have six already I think...
RAR Compact - MDT
RAR Target - MDT
Remington 510
Cooey Ace-1
BSA Sportsman 5
Norinco JW21
...I think that's all of them.

$699, that's a good price for what you are getting. Hopefully it lives up to the hype in the accuracy department. I would definitely look at getting one at that price. If it has a standard AR handle that's even better. I reckon they will sell a ton of these, even if they only prove slightly more accurate than a standard American rimfire.

Well, realistically, they will be as accurate or precise as any other 20" ruger lol It looks damn cool though. But, I decided to start saving my dollaroonies for a slightly larger caliber.

Actually, RAR compact 22LR is on my list. BL-22 is well used :) Then I also have an Alfa and Remington 12a that needed a good home, so I gave it one. I don't think this one is for me, but RAR compact is definitely on the list (in green). I really like that one.

green is another one with pic rail but no iron sight and that's 16.5 inch barrel, my friend got one and keep in my safe most of time, for me is too short and not feel right in hand although I really like short rifles, and I like the dark earth kind of color (ranch) lot more than that green, it is a little too green to me, but I have to say that is a very accurate short rifle, after few hundred round it shoots a big hole (CCI SV 50 meters 10 round group)

Considering they banned it one day after it was first advertised here I'm guessing they didn't even put it up for discussion.
