Lever release-Turkish knock-off

Post by Gun-nut » 03 Jul 2017, 10:06 pm

Looks as if the Turks are creating their own version of the lever release shotgun inspired by the Verney Carron speedline, (by creating their own, I obviously mean copy exactly). Here's a pic, not much known at this time but I'll update as soon as I here the details.

These Turkish manufacturers seem to be following trends in the Australian firearms market closely...

No idea on the specific manufacturer at this time, although the owner of the facebook page I linked to above, hinted that its a completely different manufacturer to those we've seen recently (adler, pardus, shs etc.)

I still refuse to buy from the kebabs. Anyone who deals oil with ISIS is not someone you should buy arms from.

These turkish guns are just sh!t anyway. Alright fit and finish but crap for everything else. The only one kebab gun I've ever liked (aside from the Turkish mausers, but they were made in Berlin, not turkey), was the Uzkon.

We need to fight to have Cat C opened up to recreational shooters, and bring back our beloved (and superior) pumps and self loaders.

Yep, I'd be happy if lever shotguns were made Cat B so long as pumps were as well.

Struggle to understand the difference.

And again, is a 5 shot pump-action .308 less dangerous than a 5 shot 12ga? That's a real mind bender.

Then there's ten shot, 20 shot, 30 shot, depends on the rifle. Remington 7600 take AR-10 mags for the .308 variant and M16/AR-15 mags for the 7615.

Remember, the adding pump shotties to the cat C was a last minute effort by a journalist who said they were 'daaynguhruss'.

SFFP in NSW tried to make amendments to a proposed gun bill passing through parliament to move pump action shotguns to CAT B classification. Of course the amendment was shut down by liberal, labour and the like. If pro-gun parties can gain the balance of power in parliament, then having pump and semi shotguns on standard CAT A/B licences can honestly become a reality, all it takes is for shooters to get off their arses.

Verney Carron lever release (semi semi auto) rifles are already available in Australia if you can afford the $3000+ price tag. The Verney Carron lever release shotguns are still in customs and it will be interesting to see if they are allowed in under Category A, the same as Adler's (in South Australia). If they are not allowed in or categorized C or D, then it would create an unfortunate precedent of banning / re-categorization for any future Turkish knock-offs.

I still waiting for one :/ Not a fan of Varney Carron look, but in a shotgun, I'd love it. Also, it's a bit unfair to call the Turkish variants knockoffs, because lever release is not new by any means... They are just another variant. I'd get one of the Turkish ones of it was cheap.

Releasing one in, oh, oh, I am going to say it, AR-15 type chassis, in something like 9mm or 45ACP and I'd be all over that. Heck, I'd get both. I'm curious to see if Warwick is going to do something about it... Shouldn't be too hard, considering they are setup for it more or less already.

Just a Speedline style one in 223 or 308 under $2k would do me.

In a shotgun the lever release should have minimal recoil.

Can someone confirm this notion?

If this is the case, I'd trade in my Atler for it.

If this is the case and if its turkish prices, , I'd trade in my Atler for it in a heartbeat.

Should do a fair bit to reduce recoil. The Adlers are pretty good though - at least mine is. Try a shot with a light single barrel break action 12g (Winchester 37 for example) just to put some perspective on it :drinks:

As far as I know it’s classified as a lever action shotgun in Australia so that means it’s would be a cat b and restricted to 5 rounds in the tube.

Australian sporting agencies is selling the verney carron 12 gauge for $2950, so I would assume they are legal in most states (WA, QLD and VIC as far as I know so far).

Mate a 20" would be amazing for a mob of pigs. 1/4 of the price would be nice also, but 2950 aint bad if you compare to high end over/unders. I do believe they're coming out with a synthetic stock variant later this year which might bring the price down slightly.

Stop making me drool mate.... :drinks:

Someone needs to drill some sense into Warricks to start producing stuff like this. Lever release AR-15 lookalike in 223/308.. Holy balls! Warricks are sitting on a gold mine! There is an untapped market of mall-ninja LAFOs.

They have the production and CNC milling setup for the straight pull rife, they need to grow the business, take on more people and start pumping out more rifles. They all ready have the knowledge on the process with police on getting the design approved.
