My 1911 built Winchester ‘92 has a quite short stock that always felt way too short for my 6’1” frame forcing me to “turtle neck” and readjust my hold so I could find the sights.
The solution was to cut a block of wood to the profile of the crescent butt plate and sandwich it in with a leather cover making the stock 2” longer.
The sights now just appear right in front of my eye immediately I shoulder the rifle and the hold is not fiddely at all and the lever is easier to cycle. Hanging out to shoot it off hand now!
