eddahenry wrote:the ones ive seen still have a skirt ,,, they just look like what we would call luberings in cast rifle bullets , the biggest difference is that the rings on a air pellet are bore sized and the body is undersized where on rifle cast the body is bore sized and the rings are just cut into them to hold lube
so 2 massive differences in surface area engaging the lands .

There are a number of companies ( especially some british ones ) that get into big bore air rifles, 30 cal is actually fairly well accepted over there, but you can go all the way up to .50 if you like, obviously the trajectories are pretty rainbow like with these things, they're all pcp and you get about 10 shots per cylinder charge, have a look at FX seneca, daystate just to name a few, daystate actually make a .303, cool or what?!

in2anity wrote:Are there any air rifles that can take standard (lead) rifle pills? Specifically what I'm imagining is a 30cal big bore PCP that can be fed standard 30cal lead (rifle) projectiles? It wouldn't even have to be 30cal; I guess generally what I'm asking is there a PCP that will take (lead) rifle projectiles (i.e. not air-gun specific ones)? All the ones I've seen only shoot (specifically) air rifle projectiles.
Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Then just to give it a bit more Air rifle reality what pressures do reduced load running trail boss produce. Somewhere not to far below this is what pressure would be needed to push it out the end and any distance with force.

American and .357 I think? I'm sure I remember seeing that somewhere online.
