hi guys, has anyone had any experience with the mossberg flex tactical or mossberg mvp in 223? My wife likes the look and feel of them, but we don't know much about them. Are they good guns ?
The Howa is a good cheap rifle you probably cant get any better for the money. Or even twice the money, however I think a T3x SS Varmint would probably take the edge esp if it was a 8 twist barrel. (Im not sure what they are) The Howa's are 9 and it just puts the brakes on shooting a 80 grn which is what is really needed to take it to target rifle class. I have no experience with the Mossbergs you mention and the few negative reply's need to add a bit more information to help you out. Cmon guys be nice to new guys.
the super varmint i have just purchased has 1:8 twist. 1 of the reasons i bought it ,to shoot target rifle class if i decide to at some stage. I am leaning heavily towards howa in stainless and putting a boyds thumbhole stock or walnut stock on it.
i have a howa in stainless in 223 and with handloads i can get easy 1/2 inch at 100 with floppy hogue stock over the year ive owned it never had a problem but the tikka is on another level and alot nicer especially with the 1:8 twist barrel
The mossberg is made to a price and purpose. Your paying here for the flex stock config. The gun will not shoot beyond 2 inches at a hundred if your luck. But it’s not meant to.
Yes gwion ,i looked at the lithgow and i like it very much, not just because itis aussie made. Wife doesn't like it much but. I have shot a 223 version of it and it is a beautiful gun to hold and shoot. Will try and convince her to consider it again
