For those times when you need to be a little more persuasive...
F*k me, this was an adventure. 100% done!
Barrel - cleaned'ish.
Trigger guard retaining screw - stripped before me. Drilled-out and replaced with new, but original.
Trigger - f*cked, just received a new one. Let's leave it at that. Happy.
Trigger pivot screw - needed a blow torch and 2 days of soaking in lube. Done, trigger replaced and leaf spring adjusted.
Cocking indicator/pin - f***ed, that's all me. Replaced with new, but original.
Sight was missing the ladder slider - OCD kicked in, replaced with new, but original. That was a bit of a puzzle to figure out, all done.
Tapped it out, only to realise there's a screw on the other end under grime, that's there for just that reason, drifting the pin back in with spring pressure - painful! Never again.
Parts, so far under $80, still in hundreds of dollars cheaper territory than the auction. Pfft!
Cases - check! Bertram and DIY
Bullets - cast from CBE mold.
Black powder - 500gm, check! Finally. This is 100% peer pressure, I caved. Would have gone with Trail Boss, but all this effort and no clouds of smoke is a little anticlimactic methinks.
Wax cookie - I had just the perfect depth box, so did that - worked out very well. Nice sheet of wax for future use.
Wads - 12mm punch, just arrived. Wads ready.
Press - check
Dies - check
Tomorrow, we load! Oh yerrrrr!
P.S.
Talking about Martini Henry 577-450.
