Hi scoobs...
My opinion is go to 12x on a rimfire zoom--so 4-12 is good--thats what i have on mine & is plenty good enough for paper & bunnies.
If you want to really get anal about target shooting then get a higher like up to 18x.
As for the trophy extreme scopes you mention--i think they are too big & heavy for a rimfire...i have the same as you on a tikka lite in 204 & i think its getting to the unbalanced feel, but its always shot from the car or bonnet so i put up with it...
I also have the 2.5-15 on a t3 22-250 & again its weighty, but i just wanted to try an illuminated reticle.
Not sure if you remember ive mentioned in the past but i think those scopes are barely worth their money & have way too thick reticle--too thick for 22lr in my opinion.
So my suggestion is...
*stick with a "wun inche choob" (
) 25mm tube on a 22lr. Keep the weight down on it.
*3x or 4x-14x for general shooting.
...or...
*18x plus power if going into target shooting the likes of 100m etc.
Cheers
