Hornady 62g TAP barrier bullets 22 cal

These projectiles are being advertised at a brisbane gunshop on the northside for $125 for 1000 and are “supposed” to be coming in November. They are a soft point and designed for barrier penetration. Any thoughts as to how they would go on pigs. At 12.5c a pop I thought I may sign up.

I thought Hornady TAP was loaded ammo. Does the Brisbane gun shop have a large online presence?

At 12c I would give them a go, at shorter ranges and good shot placement they would work on moderate sized porkers. They must be fairly stout if they advertise them as having some barrier penetration capability. Not hard to plink away 1000 of them if they turn out to be rubbish for hunting.

They look like fun. The price is right and as long as your expectations are realistic they should work well. I might get me a couple of boxes.

Yep thats them. Wasn’t to sure if we were allowed to mention shop names for fear of looking like I was advertising for them.
They were developed for police departments along with the 55g and 75g offerings. I’ve shot all of them through the ruger and they were “ok”. Not as accurate as the osa ammo but who knows what handloading wiil achieve.

Hey mate, I see these as well. FWIW they also list the factory ammo using this projectile for only $13.50. night be worth picking up a pack and seeing how it goes. As mentioned though, it wouldn't be hard to plink through it anyway. Cheap reloading really.

Yeah Albat, I bought a brick just going they would shoot like that. They did just that out of my Savage 10fp. For that price, I couldn't be bothered reloading for it if I'm getting such good results.

Just picked up pack of 500 for $62.50.
Surely they will be good enough for head shooting roos. Cheap plinking otherwise.

Picked some up.

I got a call up to do some hunting next wekend so thought i'd load up some and see how the performed. Promising so far with both 2206H and 2208. I'm sure they'll work a treat for headshotting critters. Not sure how they will go otherwise for proper hunting round in terms of expansion and so on. Darn good plinkers in my Savage at least. With a bit of development, can hopefully get all the shots touching. Image is a group of 4. Gotta love a flyer.

Nice group, except for the vegan that wouldn't associate :D

Their website sh!ts me and they are not spectacular to deal with on the phone, but they do have some excellent deals,
I went looking for the TAP but decided 600 55gr Hornady Roo Max for $85+$22 for shipping was better suited to my rifle. Can't argue with 18c/pill delivered to NSW in 4 days.

Yeah mate, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and I have to say, don't love the website. They do have the best prices on most things and luckily for me it's a30min drive.

Used the roomax before? I went the rooKings recently but am yet to try them out. They always pop up on sale anyway.

Bloody vegan alright. That's why it's on its own I guess. No one likes them.

Well, I think I have their website figured, so found a few different projectiles I wanted, but being crazy decided I wanted to call and confirm they had in stock, the guy was super helpful surprisingly (but I did call in morning) was on the phone was 21 minutes, but paid then on ther phone. So in the end I ended up with projectiles for a gun I don't own. Lol

So have dealt with them 3 times and been simple affairs, know what I want pay for it and get it.

Mmmmmm, fwesh buwetts for the wascally wabbit.

There were only 596 in my 600 pack so I'm feeling a little violated, but time and ethanol will ease the pain.

Now, let the fun begin.
Again. :D

Well the 55gr Roo Max certainly arrive with some authority, One this morning tore a sizeable chunk out of my bullet "stopper"

No wonder the rabbits go off like a tomato hit with a golf club.
