Hi Everyone, I’m new here.

Has anyone got any experience with the CZ557 in .308? Anything good / bad to report?

Thanks in advance.

I have one paid for, just waiting to pick it up. It looked and felt ok and everything I’ve read to date indicates it should be good, most CZ rifles are a good product in my opinion.
Was just hoping someone had first hand experience with them.

Mate, I am a CZ/Brno fan as my username implies.

I haven't seen or used one, but I'm posting just to let you know it's (probably) not just them ignoring you - maybe nobody has one. :)

Sorry mate, for some reason it doesn’t like the file type of the photos I took and won’t let me upload them.
This is a pic of the exact same thing off the web though. I have topped it with a Bushnell Elite 3500 scope.

That is very true Sir. The rifle is more than capable. Trigger was perfect straight out of the box. It all comes down to ability now, no excuses for missing for sure.

Didn’t get a lot of interest when I posted this last year. I have her well worn in now with plenty of piggies on the deck. Have developed a few good loads for it and given it was under $1000 it shoots quite well indeed.
Here are a few loads, only three round groups, nevertheless it shoots better than my ability so quite happy with it. The load data on the targets works in my rifle however as you know, work up your own loads.

Yeah mate no worries with flattening a porker. Those targets were shot at 100m and most of the piggie shots I have had recently are around that or under. Had a couple of longer shots around 250m. Not going to win a benchrest Comp with it but still plenty good enough me thinks.

To right mate. Way more fun and far less frustrating than bashing paper all day.

Mate to be honest I have only used the 130gn HP so far. I got them when they were $36/100 so have a few of them. They are pretty good for anything side or front on but for any rear quartering shot they don’t have the penetration I have found.
I havent used the 155gn HPBT however I am told they use them on donkeys so will try them next trip.
I have only recently got the 165gnSST so will try them next trip also.
Sorry mate, not much help I know.

I have just finished a Northern Territory trip and there was a lot of good pigs and a heap of scrub bulls to blast. I used nothing in my 308 except a med/ high load of 2206h and flat nose 150 gun sierra 30/30 projectiles and at the end when they ran out some taipan 150 gun flat nose. I have used them for 30 years and will not change. They kill with authority and have a slightly prominent impact sound. Like a cricket bat on a junkie. I shoot out of a lever carbine with a 4 x scope and have never felt the need to go over 200 and don’t feel hampered by the flat nose long range ability. They just hurt things.

I actually plink lead RN pills designed for the 30/30 out of my 308 - very cheap way of practicing without burning out the throat/budget

Mate I have been shooting my CZ 557 for a few years now and have it dialled in nicely. I do my own reloading and have found that this rifle likes heavier projectiles in the 165gn and up range. Here are a few examples of what this rifle is capable of. Much better than when I first got it and posted the above targets.

Well photos not happening as once again I can’t get them to upload even after resizing. This forum makes it difficult, needless to say mate they are under half an inch at 100m.
I have had the best success with the 168gn Zmax amd the 178gn ELD X, both Hornady projectiles.
Maybe try something in this range mate as the 557 has a 1:10 twist and will like the longer projectiles.
