Popping my cherry finally!

Post by Toppy91 » 30 Aug 2018, 11:07 am

Morning Gents,

Licence is FINALLY approved. So will hopefully be heading to Belmont in the next couple of weeks for my first shoot. Any pointers for a newbie?
Much excited
Cheers!

Have fun mate, be safe, listen to the advice of others. Plenty of people around to help if you need it. I have learned a lot from listening to old blokes at the range.
Those crusty old bastards do actually know what they’re on about.

Mix your shooting up with different positions, seated, prone and standing. Don't point your rifle at anyone, even with the bolt removed. Point it down range or at the sky when removing it from the firing line. Remove the bolt and set back from your rifle during a check fire. Have fun.

Remember a chamber flag at the range. Don't be shy about asking questions. If you find you flinch there are ways of getting rid of it, work on it as soon as you notice otherwise it gets harder to fix.
Have fun. Be safe.

Not yet unfortunately all approved and paid for just waiting for my licence to arrive in the mail. I am actually closer to Ripley but like the idea of going mid week on my RDO.

Funny you should say that. I got my PTA today. Called the shop to let them know I was coming in to pick it up. Then I was told my hogue stock was still on back order 4 months after I was told it was all there and was ok to be as long as I paid for it all (which I did) I think it was borrowed for another order. Anyway hopefully have it next week.

I work in the motor trade so get them if I really have to lol. Cheers mate. Will do

Oh they won’t be seeing me for my next gun. It sucks more especially after all the hoops and waiting just to get the licence.
