Scopes on bar mounts

Post by NWslopes » 14 Oct 2018, 9:05 pm

How do scopes hold up to being mounted on the bars (kolpin grips) of a 2 wheeler or ATV? I have often thought that the constant vibration and hard knocks would likely be enough to change the point of impact significantly. If this is the case is there any scopes that people have had good success with holding zero on the bars or any scopes that are known as being particularly tough?

I carry mine on the bars of a quad and an old honda 100 two stroke bike and haven't noticed any significant problems. ...but I also don't "belt around" on them anymore  :drinks:

If you're worried about shock effects, scopes made specifically for springer air rifles are virtually bombproof as far as recoil is concerned, perhaps something on that line?
