Quick question. I am just double checking, I came across somewhere on the qps website saying I dont need to fill out form 515 for pistol licence of I already have a cat a and b licence.

JUST A QUICK UPDATE ON QP0515:
I posted on 29th Oct 18 that we sent in our QP0515 forms 2nd September 18. Actually sent 20th September.
Advised today from a friend who also applying for his wifes permission to join a pistol club, that the licencing branch are saying there is now a three months wait.....maybe by Christmas!

Hmmm not great news to hear. I submitted mine on 13th October 2018 which was a Saturday.... and I literally started going out to the mailbox from the following Wednesday expectantly looking for my letter of eligibility….How naive of me.

I am now imagining WLB has one or two staff, who start at 10:00am and knock off at 2:00pm with an hour lunch and two 20 min breaks... and spend most of their day answering the phone saying....."Hello, Weapons licensing branch.... yes.... it will be processed as soon as we get to it..... Hello Weapons licensing branch.... yes... it will be processed as soon as we get to it..... Hello, weapons licensing branch...…."

I guess I'll stop racing to the mailbox and just wait till my wife surprises me with the news. :)

Good News
Submitted our QP0515 forms 20th September 18. Received our "statement of eligibility" letters in the post today. A friend who submitted her 515 a week before us also go her letter today. Looks like a batch has been processed. Hopefully a few more happy people on the pathway to a great sport. See you on the range soon!

Well, I had given up all hope of seeing this before Christmas, but dragged an envelope out of the letter box this afternoon with O.H.M.S on the front, and knew straight away that it was my letter! Just two days shy of 10 weeks which is not much change out of the three months that others have talked about.

Off to the pistol club tomorrow to get membership payed up and start the timer on my six month probation. Will be able to submit application for license just before my birthday next year :D
