I am assuming, but if America is the espanola of a capitalist society than surely australia would be classed as a....socialist society. And personally I like australia.. some things annoy the fk outta me. Like the other governance. But still its good here.

But if you all ate going to America than make sure you get that Arnie fella aka the governator of California and his tank to the barbie and I'll sure to pop around as well.... werther you like it or not

yeh we are the lucky country in a lot of ways ziad. but i won't do any overtime at work, on principle i don't like getting taxed at 48 cents in the dollar . lot of incentive to work hard hey ? the tax threshold has hardly moved in years, so it's all well and good to get a higher hourly pay rate, but the government claws it back in tax . they say vigilance is the price of freedom, i reckon it's a ongoing thing to maintain our way of life and values. the way i see it , it's our social responsability and duty to get onto the halfwits running the country to make them accountable whichever way your views are.

i wish i had a tank so i could crush things   the background on that is it's THE actual tank arnold drove when he did national service in austria. he tracked it down and shipped it to america. hence the line "only in america"

Why don't you do over time, you have been missing out on extra money all this while. While for that week, you may pay the top marginal tax rate, if your take gross pay is over about $3500 dollars for the week, but when you do you'r tax return you get a refund on any extra tax paid.

I read his auto biography a good interesting read, a true rags to riches kinda story.

$3500 gross for the week ? that's fairytale stuff for me mate     i'm lucky to gross that for the month i'm employed as a permanant/casual , so i get a better pay rate up front, but no holidays or sick days. seems to be the way a lot of companies want to employ these days. i've got a good arrangment with my employer, where any overtime worked is "booked up" at the overtime pay rate, so i get paid leave but not payng the rediculously high tax rate. seriously, if i do more than four hours a week, the amount extra in my pay , works out to be about $15 a hour and i wont do it. the government can get stuffed. and people wonder why some trades are dieing out and no-one wants to be a apprentice on about a third of what i earn. i left my trade when the mining boom was on to work at a foundry making railway and dragline parts. this was 15 years ago, and i went from $16.50 a hour to $24.50 a hour working afternoon shift. big difference :D i went from being a tradesman on a low payrate to a highly paid laborer .i was there for 12 years, but the company did some dodgy stuff, and i ended up with a payout for occupational asthsma. had to get another job, so i went back to my trade. i like my job , and my employers are good to me. but no-one except the sub contractors who work installing on-site want overtime. any wonder i'm a bit bitter in my attitude to people who exploit welfare :unknown: and yeh, i know a lot about arnold. extroidinary story, old school self made man with a good work ethic. should be more of it

Will why don't you move to victoria, work as a laborer on one of the new union EBA sites building this or tunnels etc and get atleast $150k..... if laborers are getting that I wonder how much tradesppl.

Or you could work as a concreter as long as you know how to screed and finish you can make 350 per day minimum, easily 450-500/day work 5 or 7 day's a week. Union sites easily takeaway 2k-2.5k per week.

People sitting at service stations, as long as they being paid right are normally on minimum 28 bucks an hour.

I have had a guy ask for 35 bucks an hour cash to do work...I had to tell him GTFO.

They get that number by putting the multi million dollar salaries of the likes of Alan Joyce into the equation with 7/11 workers getting bugger all and it brings up the average.

well ziad, i'm 50 years old, bin on the tools all my life, so combined with being solidly built, my knees aren't great , and no way am i fit enough or my back up to concreting . or fly in fly out work. besides that i don't have anyone to look after my house and rifles  it's a b#tch when wear'n'tear start to catch up mate . the pay rates are higher in victoria because of a higher cost of rent mainly. i could move to sydney for a extra 15k a year, but that'd go in rent . besides that , no way would i move from south east queensland to victoria ! no offence to victorians, but i got fraser island 2 hours north, northern NSW is a hour away , stanthorpe/ toowoomba west of me. stradbroke and the moreton bay islands only 1/2 hour east. fishing is crap compared to what it was 30 years ago but . lifestyle wise i'm not in a bad spot. i got relo's that live near whittlesea in victoria, so i bin down there enough to make the comparison. cant believe the numbers of rabbits i saw in paddocks alongside main roads but ! if i win the lotto i'm goin' to buy 2000 acres minimum and retire down to tenterfield 3 1/2 hours south ,or up near gympie which is 3 hours north of brisbane . :drinks:

Sex robots stix ? I knew a girl like that once too ! Actually, more like a mannequin, would just lie there and not move much and you could pose her how you wanted her. Needless to say that relationship didn’t last

Part of one response with regard to this 'sex partner' that didnt move that you once had was going to be along the lines of...'there's only so many times you can patch a cheap inner tube before you turf it'...

Ahh ir was about his ex GF, who didn't move. I suppose in all honesty an inflatable doll would be decent. No child support ever, no nagging, no take all your money in divorce.

But having to wash her everytime might wear a bit thin.
