I went south for the opening of marron season and a property I shoot is in the same area so next day I went out there I was not sure which rifle to take and decided on the .222 Ruger as I had not zeroed since fitting a Bushnell6-24 AOE.it only took 6 clicks to the right and was all good.Fox time!!

I am in love with this rifle again.I am becoming recoil sensitive and with hearing protection on this calibre is so sweet.I thought it might be shot out as I used it for more than 5000 Roos over 8 years in the Gascoyne but it still groups.the second group was me not trying as hard to get them together

I'd be very happy with that.

Thank you.the crosshairs are quite thick on this scope but green light on day shooting and red at night seems to work.also the fine pen circles were hard to see so I had red electrical tap crossed on the circles.when shooting foxes I should be able to place the shot O.K.

Wfat distance was groups shot at? One group looks kick arse - more than acceptable for hunting.

About 70 metres I pinned the cardboard to a roll of hay which later made me wonder if it's a good idea to leave lead in the roll.the second group I placed the target so the rounds did not go in the roll

Yeah, 222’s rule :D how’d ya go with the marron ? Put up some pics. With something in the pic to give a perspective of size. There’s some good sized red claw in south east Queensland :D

Nice one mate, the 222's are a great cal really, as you point out nice and mild to shoot and get the job done very well indeed, It's the cal that I have used the most over the years to kill all manner of things from big to small.

The Rugers a shooter too by the looks of it, which makes the job that much easier to get done. :drinks:
