Hi. What do you use and why. Good points and bad about what you have please I will mostly be useing a scoped lever action so prefer to buy something that doesn’t interfere with the lever

I think a pair of bags are the best, but they can be awkward to carry, and they don't last more than a few years left out in the weather. I sometimes use an MTM rifle rest and get good results from it, and it holds up decently in the weather. Been out in the paddock for over four years now. One neat feature is it has a storage tray in the bottom, so I can just hold a hand in front of the ejection port and the empty brass is deflected down into the tray.

Most of my shooting though is off a bipod, and sometimes with a rear bag.

I find levers annoying off a bench or prone regardless, just part of the fun I guess :-)

I shoot off bags for testing but mainly a bipod or shooting sticks when hunting

you can make a set of bags out of the legs of your old jeans with a 5-10 kg bag of rice sewn in :drinks:

I shoot the 7mm out to 1000 yards on this rest and if you set it so you have to pull it in and down hard it is very stable and concentration is all that is needed.with a lever your going to have to resettle every shot anyway.

As marksman said a jeans leg works. This one's full of sand and is easy to carry over 1 shoulder can be adjusted up down sideways and cqn go on a bonnet anthill or rock and works well with the 30/30  :drinks:

The X shaped bag is a balltearer, I made a rear bag out of the leg of an old pair of overalls. Got in touch with my feminine side.
Big mistake, the bitch started nagging about housework.

Mate I use a bipod and a rear bag but that's for a bolt action. Very stable when at the range testing out different reloads.

Scissor jacks make great front rests - weld a bit of plate on the bottom of the jack and somebon top and make a sandbag out of Jean legs to go on top.

+1, this is a good system and cheap. Just remove your sling swivels. Otherwise a cheap Chinese bipod.
