It's a dam shame that the goverment continues to throw huge sums of $$ at the aerial culling of camels. I believe it would be wiser to spend the $$ on assisting the industry around mustering and exporting these grouse animals.

Taste good ( just like beef) just need a young female. I eat it regularly.

I also believe that there is an industry to be established around hunting them as a safari similar to the buffalo hunting in Anhemland.

You're right there Ziad.
Look how they pissed and moaned when it was found that wild horses needed culling to prevent mass starvation. They put up all the emotive bullsh!t arguments about how cruel it was etc.
Now that thousands have starved or died of thirst, the same fvckwits are screaming "Why didn't someone do something".

I think a lot of these people fit a certain type, if they weren't protesting about veganism or culling or some esoteric new age fad just invented in California, they would be protesting for land rights for transgender whales.

They either need a new hobby or a bloody good smack up side the head.

small ones that I hunt for my meat I just use the .223 head shot normally ruins there day pretty quick , but if chasing a bigger bull for dog meat I'll use the .308

they are pretty easy animal to hunt i find especially when you come up to a mob( not sure of the word for a group of camels) that have never been chased by motorbikes etc,

some blokes I met quite a while ago that shoot the camels told me to get a popular calibre if I ever go as you will never take enough ammo
when they go they said they ran out after 500 rounds each and had to go to a town to stock up
they dont eat them just destroy the camels and donkeys
I agree there could be an industry there maybe but I suppose smarter men than I am have looked into it and thought it wouldn't work :unknown:

I don't think the $$$ stack up re-rounding them up and killing/processing them and then transporting them, it's a shame hey as there's a lot of good meat on em that could feed a lot of people.

there are several operators that do muster them and send them to a meat works in peterborough and I believe there is also one near alice springs.

Arab countries are steaming out for the meat and hides for top quality leather.

even a pet meat industry could be an option.

The best use of these camels is in the camel racing industry in middle east, as the ones here are bright over 200 years ago their lines increase the genetic diversity of the Arabian camels. Heard a few ppl made a lot of money by rounding them up and shipping them back.
