Quick pta turn around Qld

Post by Blr243 » 30 Jan 2019, 4:52 pm

For those wondering about the wait at the moment I got my email approval in 6 days. I spose it’s 10 14 days after that it will arrive in the mail. No complaints from me

Yep, they're pretty quick these days.
Applied for on 25th arvo, advised 09:30 today approved - faxed to dealer. Monday a pub hol so 2 and a bit days seems OK to me.
Doesn't get much better than that, in Qld.

That's nothing! I applied for it on Saturday, Australia day, and got the approval less than 24 hours later on Sunday!

A Sunday!!!

I once bought something on eBay in the morning and it turned up in the afternoon. I really don’t know how that happened.

Anyone have an idea of how long it normally takes for them to fax the PTA to the dealer after your 28 days wait is up for your first firearm?

I received an email saying its approved already.

With 314 Authorised Officers spread amongst the 5 police regions and 15 police districts of QLD there is no lawful reason you should not have a PTA in hand the next day, as prescribed in the Act.

Submitted PTA 1230 Friday, recieved it back by email at 1020 this morning, Monday.
Is that some kind of record? Well done to the Weapons licensing branch for being so efficient. Double thumbs up from me.
