22LR Stainless Barrel Blanks

Post by allan » 31 Jan 2019, 6:17 pm

Anyone know where I may find a barrel blank for a 22LR project build?
Looking for something from one of the recognized suppliers - Plan is to finish up at roughly 22" OAL - Either .866" straight or .866 straight taper to approx. .750" at 22".
Any leads appreciated!

(Good) barrel blanks don't come "cheap", unless you can find a 2nd hand one.

Have you spoken to your gunsmith who will be chambering your rifle? Or can you do this yourself?

Cost isn't an issue. I work with one smith regularly on various 22LR builds.
I usually source the barrel from the likes of Maddco, Trueflite or US based suppliers but the lead times seem to be getting longer all the time - Thought I had found a Benchmark with a profile that would work earlier this week - Supplier hasn't responded to my emails so I'm assuming he no longer has it.

Is this the guy in Victoria, Bendigo? I have a couple of Benchmark barrels which are excellent. Supply can be a little patchy. Maddco or Hardy may be your best bet.
