So in my quest to find a decent (not something cheap and Turkish) repeating lever preferred CatA/B shotgun I stumbled into this.

Anyone have any experience with it / opinions on it?

I've handled the chiappa and owned the iac version. The chiappa was very smooth, the iac was solid and reliable and shat all over the crappy new ones....

I have a Chiappa 1887. I bought it years before the Adler existed. It's pretty great.

It's very smooth but you have to work the lever with gusto or you will get feeding issues. Still overall pretty reliable for what it is, an old design and one that John Moses Browning wasn't keen on to begin with (he wanted to make pumps and eventually did). You load through the top and it can chew your fingers if you aren't careful. There's no modern safety, just half cock or having an empty chamber.

I remember we took it out spot lighting rabbits and when we managed to shoot 5-6 in a row we realized it was a hoot. Nowadays I take it out for Western Action once in a while instead of the coachgun to mix things up.

Also have a Chiappa purchased before the other levers hit the market. Mines the short barrel.

Love it.

You need to put a couple of boxes through it before it loosens up. As stated above one must work the action with vigor otherwise jamming can be a problem.
