New owner here. No.1 mk3 1912 B.S.A.
The bore looks a bit flogged but I’ll find out if it shoots on Saturday, the furniture is in good used condition. Freebie from my grampa, who inherited it from my great uncle (was his rifle in ww2).

Have had 303's sitting in the safe for years. Then got into the wildcats, though primarily in one of my favourite calibres -.257".
Currently there's:
1900 LE No1 MkI 'Long Tom'
Eddystone P-14 303
1915 No1 MkIII representative marksman's rifle
1919 Lithgow No1 MkIII
1942 Lithgow No1 MkIII*
Maltby No4 Mk1
BSA No4 Mk2 ( which will become a representative No4T)
Lithgow No1 MkIII 303-25
Eddystone P-14 303-25

Plus there's a Lee Speed 303 action which initially was a Lithgow sporter in 303-22 Falcon, but is now a 375 Nitro Express flanged 2.5". I did have an un-issued Savage No4 MkII that was marked as a NZ Mtd Rifles item, but sold it during a moment of weakness. It was a 2-groove & in 95% or better condition.

Am looking to add a Martini Henry 303 & Ruger No1 303Br in due course to round things out.

Incidently, speaking of .311", basically 303, you could also count a M19/31Mosin Nagant & an M39 Finnish.

The milsurps are fed PPU 150gn SP or 174gn FMJ. I also reload for them with Bertram 174gn SP & Sierra SMK 174's which are primarily for the marksman & faux 4T rifles.
I have also been loading some 123gn .311" pills to trial in CSR comps. Worked bloody well too.

Yeah, probably the first or second one I made. Many years ago, well before even considering there might be a market in stock making.

If it makes you feel any better, this is my grandfathers service rifle, he didn't use it much as he was a Lewis gunner.

Slight problem with that - Australian military never used No4's ! The No1 MkIII* was the mainstay battle rifle for Australian diggers in both WW 1 & 2, the Malaya conflict & Korea. The Brits adopted the No4 as the main battle rifle in WW2.

Two No.5's
One Lithgow No.3
One Fazerkerly No.4

I shoot all of them often.
The Jungle Carbines (No.5's) are my favourites.

The receiver has engravings on the top line look to be hand engraved where as bottom line appear to be electro stencil?
