The joke's on you lot, the 6.5 Creedmoor is actually just a necked down .30 T/C. ( Thompson / Centre ) So it actually started life as 7.62.
Also, the .300 Savage has been around since 1920. ( .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952 ), It was designed to work through a
medium length action and deliver
similar ballistics to the .30/06. ( sound familiar? ) The Creedmoor / T/C case closely resmbles the Savage.
