7.6 Creedmoor

Will the 7.6 Creedmoor be the next big thing and have everyone rebarreling their 308s? Will the Creedmoor offer any significant advantage over the 308? I hear they are allowing it to be used in FT-R competition in the US, it will be interesting when it starts winning.

It is interesting that the Creedmoor case has gained traction over the 243 and the 260 but a 308 cal Creedmoor appears to have no chance against the well entrenched 308. Personally I would like to see the 7.62x39 case gain a foothold.

The joke's on you lot, the 6.5 Creedmoor is actually just a necked down .30 T/C. ( Thompson / Centre ) So it actually started life as 7.62. :o
Also, the .300 Savage has been around since 1920. ( .308 Winchester was introduced in 1952 ), It was designed to work through a medium length action and deliver similar ballistics to the .30/06. ( sound familiar? ) The Creedmoor / T/C case closely resmbles the Savage.
As with most things relating to cartridges, " everything old is new again ". :drinks:
