Gotta love a .357 magnum!

Been a while since I shot my S&W 686-3. 8-3/8". Got some range time in yesterday and had an absolute blast shooting my favourite revolver. Love the .357 caliber.

I never really gave 357 Magnum much thought until I got a French police surplus Manurhin MR 73.

I love shooting 357 Magnum and there are plenty of choices out there for reloading it.

Used my 4" Python last week with factory ammo, noticed it after 48 rounds. My reloads are at 80% of the Military Loading Specs and can shoot them all day in the 586 or 6" Python. Your longer barrel would be a nice shooter for factory I think, just need to con a mate into selling me his 8" Python.

An 8" Python . That would be worth a pretty penny! I have never seen one here in oz.

Seen a couple, heard of others such as a collector up your way who has the 8" Python Hunter model with factory fitted 2x Leupold scope supposedly imported when it was still legal to handgun hunt in the NT, and another collector from the NT who has the 8" Python Target model in 38 Special, now those would be a pricey pair to get! My mates is a standard Python, but still I expect to shell out up to $3K at least once he realizes that he really needs to sell it to me, Cheers.

357 magnum is a lot of fun.

Any recommendations on budget/ economical factory ammo?

Of the cheaper 357 Mag ammo I have bought, Prvi Partisan, Blazer Brass, S&B and Sig Sauer have all worked just fine.

How is Prvi partisan regarded in US, waneroo? Is it popular to any degree or a fairly rare band to come across?

It's fairly common in most gun stores, especially the big box chain stores like Cabelas. I never hear any complaints about it and I use it myself with no issues.

+1 on the S&B .357 ammo. I used to buy this stuff a couple of years back for around $30 /50 rnds. It shot well and the brass is great to reload.
