Not what i would call the best cartridge for pigs, but when your on pest control & the farmer wants them gone !

My 2 x .222 will both shoot the same load with the POI being 10mm @ 100 difference.

Noice, I rolled one the other mth whilst out shooting foxes with my CMC Mountaineer in 222, bang flop all she wrote.

The 50gn Tipan did it's job no worries at all and even exited, range was around 120-150m from memory.

Got to love the ZMax, good for more than Zombies. They have not let me down and are surprisingly accurate. Where approximately were you hunting?

Love my 222 although i haven't shot any pigs of that size with mine its such a sweet calibre for those precise 150-200m shots

I bought my 223 about 3 years ago for foxes. But Im constantly amazed at what the 223. + 222 are effectively used on.

The 222 was used heavily in NZ to cull Deer for many many years, I think that was from Helicopters too so it is a capable cal in the right hands no doubt about it. :thumbsup:

Except for the big sow, head shots @ 65m on average. The big sow ran past me & copped one in the guts . :o

I shot 3 medium size pigs one night and hit them all in the neck with a .222 and they all dropped near instantly
.22 winchester .22hornet .222 .243 7mm rem mag cbc 12g
