Berika 12g straight pull

Anyone got their hands on the AR style berika 12g.
It's another Turkish gun so can't expect too much, but it certainly looks the part if you're into that style.

I threw an order in more out of curiosity than anything else. I can't really find a need for a slug gun, but there's still a little space in the corner of the safe left...

I live in WA so that's a nope here, cops would probably give some tripe about it looking like a fully automatic anti sub torpedo launcher with a ICBM attachment or something and reject the application

I know a cou0le if guys who bought one, but haven’t collected yet . Only a week or so ago. I had a quick look at one in a nickel finish and I was impressed. They make some straight pull, walnut, long barrel more politically correct models.

They obviously weren't thinking about the children when they designed that thing.
So military appearance that it probably comes with it's own soldier!

Looks like you can get some decent mags for it to.

Yeh runs the 10 round mag which is supposedly a solid bit of kit as well.

I ordered the desert sand colour and is 6 weeks or so away apparently.

One of the most retarded laws strikes again.

Next up .... P players and learner drivers restricted from driving cars fitted with spoilers because they look too fast.

The Hoon laws come pretty close. That seems to be total police discretion.

Definitely,
It pays to be ultra polite when your pulled up for giving it a blap.

Interesting - could it happen though, that in 12 months or what ever, They turn around and say yeah nah - they still look too much like an AR?

The thing with the appearance laws - is a police officer or who ever going to act differently to a person carrying a “Similar” military firearm vs a ? Other firearm? What is the actual point of the appearance laws? I don’t get it.

The new "fix" may look very different, enough for some folk to want a refund, perhaps? Will they get one is the question.

Hmm I'm not a fan of the revised black ops model. Especially the gap between the trigger guard and mag well. The smoothed out section is not too bad.
It's an $800 gun to me and not $1400 now though.
I'm bailing.

So looking at some pictures and videos of the "updated" model, it looks like there is a few different variants floating around or something. Maybe some are old stock that were retrofitted, and some are completely new stock?

For example looking at black and desert storm versions on the barn here (ignore the marine it's the old version):

https://www.thebarn.net.au/categories/Berika/17141

The black variant has a keymod forend, as well as a small section of pic rail on all four sides. Whereas the desert version has an M-lok forend, and only a single pic rail section on the top, and seemingly a completely empty flat bottom section of the forend.

Not that I would need to attach a bunch of accessories to a shotgun, but there would be a significant difference in the way you could attach a flashlight, or a sling point etc... between the two versions.

It's a similar story with other sites/vidoes that have the new model shown as well. Some of them show the m-lok version, and others show the keymod with the extra pic rails.
