I think you can buy as small as the PPK as long as it has an extended barrel?

Depends on what your state regs are I reckon. SA theoretically 4” minimum for revolver, 5” for semi auto (constantly made bulls**t as 114-120mm barrels fly under the radar all the time)....
Mate in Vic tells me if the club sign off on your ‘short barrel’ purchase as they shoot a match for it.....all is well.....
Don’t ask your local copper....talk to the secretary or the club armourer.
