Inline muzzleloader powder

Post by CRF » 24 Feb 2020, 7:38 pm

G'day gents,

About out of my alliant black mz and found out it's no longer made. The alternative synthetic black powder was hodgdon which is no longer imported.

If there are any other inline shooters, what powder are you running these days?

Cheers

Not that I shoot one....yucky...lol....but there's no real reason you can't use proper black powder in them

My preference is to avoid actual black powder due to its inefficiency and corrosiveness. It's all well and good doing a range day but backpacking for sambar or a hunt up north where it's not getting a proper clean for a week with burnt powder down the barrel isn't ideal.

Hmmmm....reckon there might be a few disagree with that....I use mine for hunting too and have been away for a week at a time and never worried too much about it. But each to their own

I looked into white hots but couldn't find any reference to it being in aus.

Do they still bring in pyrodex? My understanding was that all hodgdon was off now.
