Yep, surely is, going by the comments on their FB page under those responses, I'd say they have just lost nearly half their membership.

Years ago at Cunnamulla when I was predominantly hunting pigs with dogs there was a terrible roo plague so I was asked to spend a few nights with a 222 thinning them out. The grazier supplied the ammo but it was very quickly gone so I went into town with him to get more and there was this tiny little shop that sold ammo and knives and I can’t remember what else ... can’t believe that bloke wood have been told to shut shop..... local graziers were probably buying their ammmo from there for a long time ......drought, thousands of Roos, corona and now government restrictions to make things even more difficult. Ammo for a graziers rifle is not a luxury or hobby ...it is as essential in the bush as food from a supermarket is for us

SSAA working behind the scenes as usual, they don’t explain why gun shops have been singled out over other retail businesses.

The SSAA are a demonic organisation. They love current gun laws because it makes them so much money. They don't care about firearms they only care about money. Few people were members back in the day before they had to be.

They love the minimum handgun shoots they love how the majority of people need to be a member of a shooting club to get their licence. They love how they have the range market cornered. They just want its members to bend over, pay their fees and load their single round.

People need to use independent ranges and give this organisation zero dollars.

Good call mate. There is plenty of independent ranges out there. They really do not care about shooters and gun rights. They want us to stand inline like brain dead zombies, pay our yearly fee and use their ranges.

Just fired an email to them / how do we cancel our memberships, what is the process, and the reasons - recent media release, bugger all support for shooters, etc etc etc.

Yes they all are. The Qld government made the same decision as the WA government.

Good man tassy. I'm not sure how to cancel. When does your membership expire? Just don't pay your renewal fee and I'm sure they will cancel you real quick.

Just got this from qld minister for health

Thank you for your email regarding licensed armourers/licensed gun dealers.

This CHO directive was a product of considerations from the National Cabinet meeting which took place on Friday 27 March and will likely again consider the matter tonight.

The Queensland Government recognises that some exemptions will need to be made to this directive to prevent unnecessary disruption to critical industries such as our agriculture sector, pest management, police and the security industry.

The rapid evolving nature of public health emergencies like this mean decisions are often needed to be made very quickly without the consultation that would ordinarily occur.

Kind regards,

Office of the Hon. Steven Miles MP

Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services

I’ve cancelled my membership- email them with your SSAA no, advise you want to cancel and why / they will process and email back. Sorry, but their response is quite unbelievable...ffs - sports stores sell basketballs they might encourage ppl to congregate...
I’ve been falsely accused of DV previously- this is a touchy subject for me.

Sorry if this seems ranty but
Judging by the health ministers response it sounds like they may be considetring reopening to security police and cat c and d holders this would be at least some good news.
As events unfold i think what is most important is how we treat each other. Every time there's hoarding someone suffers due to a shortage I wouldn't want a security guard or LEO out on the street without a full clip because someone 'needed' 5000 rounds for the coming apocalypse.
If we all think of each other rather than buying 500 rolls of toilet paper the gov could focus on the problem at hand rather than the current problem created by media hysteria and idiots.
There isn't a food shortage there's a problem with prepper idiots telling us how right they were all along and naive people listening and hoarding food they'll NEVER eat and bullets they'll probably NEVER shoot

Explain to me why a public servant needs rounds but a lawful citizen does not? They are no more important than Joe citizen is. To think so is tyrannical.

And a cat C and D holder for primary production is no more important than a A/B/H holder. Our money is equal.

Ferris, if I have read the rules correctly I think we are house bound until May 19 but we still are allowed out for work ( unless your job has gone or been temporarily banned ) to buy food , go to the doctor or to excercise and when we are out we must try really hard to avoid close contact and maintain vigorous hygiene ...... but I need to know something.........is walking around in a paddock all night with a thermal scope 5 hours west of Brisbane considered exercise ? Or do I have to do one armed pushups with a 50 kilo boar strapped to my back as well ?

Porkeatingcrusader
I don't THINK ...
I KNOW.
Police got into it with a crazy guy not too far from me yesterday. He ramed a patrol car, shot at a helicopter, then when he was waist deep in croc infested mangroves the police finally returned fire end result one less criminal. All the police went home.

Imagine if they couldn't shoot back because a guy who eats pork bought all the bullets So he could bury them somewhere because he was convinced the world was going to end after watching too many experts on the current global events on YouTube.

What makes your need to hoard ammo just in case more important than a police/security officers need for ammo to defend his LIFE?

The fallow pillow ...... is when u had to carry the deer up hills on the way back to camp and as soon as u got there u needed a little nap with some sticky blood and flies.... surely this could be considered excercise ? Sort of like a solo gymnasium but without Coronavirus ,music and mirrors for people who like to look at their own muscles Actually this gym description is making me sick. Give me a warm deer on my back any day

The police work for you and me, the tax payer. Their need for anything does not trump the need for you and me, the tax payer.

The police are already not going out to “non essential“ calls. Soon it may be all calls. Are you really saying the public service needs resources more than the tax payer? Their life is not more valuable than mine, my friends, my family or even yours.

The tail does not wag the dog.... It is we the people not them the government.

To address the second question
a cat c or d holder needs ammo for his job aka income so he too is not finding himself living off the gov dime.
It's already hard for farmers to make the decision to keep working in the face of this pandemic when every time you go out you put your wife and kids at risk of covid
every time I hire help to pick fruit to go with that pork I put my family at risk
Add to that the average farm owner is over 65 years of age maybe you can appreciate the risk myself and my peers are taking so you can keep hoarding
I know your SCARED we all are but being inconsiderate assholes and tearing down the gov at every turn isn't going to get you through

I think I have found your problem- this is NOT the Septic States of America if you think that works look who has the most cases of covid in the world

SIT AND STAY a command my dog understands is being disobeyed because "my right to walk around can not be denied"- how dumb are they
I don't believe our government is infallible but I do believe that our p.m. is doing the best he can, you only have to watch a press conference to see how shattered that man is. He can't think of everything. When someone says we need to stop people gathering. He tries to do just that.
If people that hoard didn't exist I wholeheartedly believe gun shops would still be open. The only reason they closed was the higher than normal purchases that put them on the radar as a gathering place.
He can't stop people from eating but what is your genuine need for all that ammo when the range is shut not to mention where are you going to shoot it. and be reminded that being a prepper and believing in the apocalypse is NOT a genuine reason to own a firearm in Australia.
