cocked/uncocked

Post by id29ohmj@gmail.com » 22 May 2020, 11:29 am

HI GUYS have a S & W Victory and when the last round is fired the slide locks open, if I close the slide with the magazine in it will not dry fire if I take the magazine out it still will not fire. Other pistols I have used will dry fire with the magazine in so the question I would like to ask is my victory working as per S & W
manual, have tried to find the answer in the manual with no luck, also is the pistol cocked or not, would prefer not to store pistol with tension on springs.
Any help greatly appreciated

Don't worry about easing springs for storage, it'll be fine regardless, and being CatH you're required to use it regularly anyway. Cycling the springs is what wears them out, leaving them compressed won't harm them.
