Registration Certificate

Post by Vone » 30 Jul 2020, 9:16 pm

G'day all.

How long have people been waiting for their firearm registration certificate? I'm on 6 weeks now and nothing. Emailed LRD 2 weeks ago to follow it up and no response from them :unknown:

Cheers.

I got my last one in about 2 weeks. (Straight after the lock down a few months ago) I would follow up again.

I have waited over 6 months for one, I have firearms I have owned for more than 30 years that don't have one, recently (before lockdown) it seemed to take between a month and never (I bought some things 2 years ago that I have not received a certificate for). Don't worry, they mean nothing, Cheers.

^^^^^^
What he said. They mean nothing, but they do support a bureaucratic empire that sucks up monies that could be better used elsewhere.

Strange I normally get them within a week, I am always surprised just how quick they come. Some are just a day or two later. i always am a bit concerned when I see the envelope thinking it may be a traffic ticket or some other fine. The fed Gov envelope is something that normally does not come with money inside.

It always took me around 7x or 8x business days for me to receive my certificates in the mail

My understanding is the certificate is confirmation that it's in the register under your name.

If I didn't get one within 4 or 5 weeks I would be asking questions.

Imagine, you get inspected. You pull out the firearm and it isnt on the copers list. What then?
