My favourite wasn't so much a sign, but a lack of one when me and a few mates were doing a roo drive on a circa 2000 acre property. Between the two main areas we used a bush track. Low and behold heres some lycra clad bloke pushing along on a mountainbike.

So we stop next to him. There's four of us in a 4WD, all with either rifles or shotguns held up and out the window so as not to have a bunch of barrels inside the cab. None were loaded, but he didn't know that. I'm guessing we spooked him as we were only going slow due to said arrangement.

The look on his face was priceless. He dead-set thought he was about to be murdered. We just said "Hey mate, where are you going?" He said "Uh, oh, uh... I think I'm lost..."

Apparently old mate didn't consider that it was primary producing land and there may be firearms discharged on it. Literally had no idea, scared the sheiss outta him that he may have copped a round or two.

Needless to say, we haven't found any riders out that way since.

One simple question to ask trespassers is,,,,,,,,,,,,,

In a serious tone,, inquire ,,,, Hey, did anyone else see you come in here ?

The answer is usually a "No"

So in reply you say Well,,,,, you'd better f@ck off out of here quick before no-one EVER sees you leave.

Another good sign says,,,,,,,,,,

Today's intruder is Tomorrows Rottweiler sh!t.

I know they are meant to be somewhat humorous but the trouble with all of these mucho macho intimidation signs is that they imply to the feeble minded that what is suggested on the sign is in some way doable without serious legal repercussions.
Pity the poor fool that actually acts out in that way and feels he will be defended by the sign.

This is a point of view I share SS . I appreciate the signs and the right to defend yourself and your property, but with some of the confrontational loonies out there these days, ya could set yourself up for big problems. In a court of law those signs could be taken as threatening. The term “premeditated “ might also come up.....

Just saying :unknown:

Signs on properties threatening trespassers with a bullet are perfectly legal, IN QLD, despite the harmful intention they suggest. While there were laws against carrying out the actions stated, there was no law against the signs themselves. A threat written on a sign doesn't really exist until someone enters the property. The threat does not apply to everyone but only those with the intent to trespass.
A fool is as a fool does, If the suggestion on a sign stops the feeble minded from trespassing then it has served its intended purpose.

I considered getting a sign made that had a picture of handcuffs, A ball Gag, a gimp mask and some chains with text at the bottom that says “Trespass equals your consent!”
May still do it lol

Another possibility is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

A sign showing a "figure" wearing a black robe and face mask.

And beside it,,,, a flag pole with an isis flag.

Shortly after installation,, there will be several vehicles with government plates parked outside the gate 24 hrs a day.

What better security system could you ask for ??????

Z plates don't exist any more as far as I know but up until recent times they would have been in black or dark Ford Territories. Probably use something similar these days.

I have a large property - one of the most effective, real world signs in this tech age ?
Place under video surveillance or smile, your on camera.

So, it just happens that I have caught ppl on trail cameras looking at those signs and for 10 minutes, you can see them searching trees, and brush and thinking...

I’ve also go a sign that says - “private property, do you understand English, or 12 gauge ?”

Im in need of some signs - I own a 100 acre property in the middle of no where, and the neighbour decided to put 3 chalets there.
I shoot every weekend and some week nights as well as have my own range there.
Sometimes the silly holidayers decide to go for a walk through my property.
Recently 2 holidayers walked through my range while 10 of us were there using it - ZFG by them... until we informed them that this was not the same property they are staying at.... doh

Just run a couple of stand off hot wires and a solar powered unit on the boundary.

what l know has worked is the camera and smile signs that Tassie spoke about
after a property was being molested heavily by poachers the owner thought about putting locks on gates but decided that would only stop honest people and did not want his fences chopped so he put up camera signs and he has had a dramatic drop in poaching on this property
l did put up some trail cameras for a while and did catch a couple of poachers that he actually knew who were warned off
it has worked for him

A sign that I have seen near a creek that people think would be lovely to fish/picnic/poach along is, "Trepassers are requested not to play with the tiger snakes"

You can also add "Bull, savage dog " or what ever you like.
