Correction. A good cat is one that is kept permanently indoors, not allowed to roam outside killing native animals etc.
Nice shooting, though. I detest feral cats and let's say "feral cat owners"

Nice job, the only good feral cat is a dead one.

However I just had a bobcat turn up on my trail cam so that might explain why the ferals are scarce now. They will seek out and destroy the ferals in their territory.

a buddy of mine had a neighbour in his town in PA where he lived (RIP), anyways this neighbour had about 200 cats hanging around a 50 acre plot... he heard about this and his uncle confirmed that if you trap and raise some young bobcats they will get agro when they age, but they will claim the immediate area for themselves. so he and his old boy/uncle trap these young bobcat kittens, raised them till they were starting to get bitey and scratchy and let them loose. apparently all very illegal... but needless to say within 4 months nearly all the neighbours cats were nowhere to be seen.

I rekon they're no where near as widely & densely spread, & they are largely nomadic & happy to live alone, whereas foxes are territorial & have social groups.
But i think the damage one cat does to the native wildlife & given local ecosystem is easily ten-fold that of any given single fox, if not twenty!
And for that reason i get great pleasure in removing them.
Ive happily given up foxes rabbits in the light for a buckleys chance at a cat that flashes past.

I dont know what that cat did to that deer, but he wasn't happy with it. Clearly pissing off a deer is a life limiting course of action for cats. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Yes here in PA you can't destroy feral cats, it's animal abuse, despite all the destruction they do and spreading of disease and fleas and ticks. Of course I hear that some farmers do anyways.

I will watch to see if this bobcat hangs around and cleans house, the local feral numbers have seemed to have dropped in the past few weeks.

Also the foxes will often eat the cats too. I don't have any issue with the foxes as they eat all the small critters.

I find this very interesting,
What do the Bobcats do with the other moggies ?
Do they eat them,,,,, or just kill em ?

Praps we need to import some to Aus. :silent:

They kill them off from what I know. Male bobcats get up to about 20 kilos or so, they tend to be more muscular and bigger than a feral cat.
