I can't blame the companies, you need the realestate as well as capital to make a line open. Why do that when you can just hire more employees and look good to the public while still turning a huge profit on your pre-existing equipment?
Things where I am aren't too crazy so I'm happy sitting on what I've got for the moment.

That was one of the more bizarre things of the 2013-2014 panic was the desire for people to horde tens of thousands of rounds of .22LR, sometimes more.
I tried to talk some sense into folks, I shot smallbore rifle as a national level competitor, we shot 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week. Even then I probably only used 20K rounds of 22LR a year.
I did a search around online on some of the big US online ammo sellers and there is 22 available but it is typically expensive match grade ammo. All the usual stuff like CCI is long gone.
